I've just submitted number 10! :woohoo:
Just 90 more to go.

Now I've just hit 20!
I must admit, I've really started to get used to the new characters, and they're really coming along quite nicely. I still sorta miss Gurp though.

And now I've just hit 30!
Not bad if I do say so myself. I've gotten used to all of the new character now, and am quite comfortable writing for them as well. I must admit, my personalities of them seems to be starting to go a little different, but overall everything is running smoothly. I think I've started to get a hang of using continuity in these Emoticomics as well.

That's right I've hit 50!
I'm halfway through the list already!
Also, I'm going on an Emoticomic hiatus to rest my creative juices. You can find more information on the fiftieth comic on this list "Graffiti".

WOW!!! 90!!!
I can't believe there's only ten more left. Wow... just... wow.

And that makes 100.
Done. This list is now complete. It didn't take long either.
Even though I started this particular list over two years ago, it feels like I've been doing it for only a single year.
What now I wonder.

Thanks. What's more, this is the second list. :giggle:

*finds correct Journal*

Holy crap starting from # 85 this DOES get intense. Builds up really, and then goes home.
DanVzare Featured By Owner Jul 8, 2015
Well I suppose that depends on how you interpret #85. Since the term "break a leg" is usually used whenever someone is about to go on stage. Besides, emotes don't have legs... so making something for that phrase should be easy.

"Ahhh! I broke my leg! I can't go on stage!"
"You don't have legs"

"Oh yeah"

"Ahhh! I lost my legs! 'I can't go on stage!"

Yeah, but that phrase can be used for any situation, I think, when a person has to go and perform... when life and limb aren't on the line... so I guess you wouldn't say that before someone performs surgery! :XD: Actually, I guess my thought of it was too broad (it wasn't too literal, since I wasn't thinking you'd take the literal path with it.) so maybe I felt it more of the start of the climax. Plus 85 is a somewhat round number, too, so good for starting. :)

Wow. I already know what #85 is going to be... o.o

Smart. Who gave you the idea?
DanVzare Featured By Owner Sep 20, 2014
My sister was the one who originally gave me the idea, because she found the hundred word challenge on the account of one of her watcher's. Rather than make one picture for each word though, I decided to make one comic page for each word. And not just random comic pages, but comic pages that all formed a series. When I was  finished with it, I started it again, but using one of the many other hundred word challenges out there on DevArt.

Of course, I occasionally change a word every now and again. :D

The hundred word challenge is supposed to help you expand your imagination and widen your skills. Overall, by doing it in comic form, I think it has. Although since Emoticomic is so simply drawn, it's mostly helped my writing skills.

Smart.  I want to try a challenge like that, but I don't think I'm ready yet.
DanVzare Featured By Owner Sep 22, 2014
Well if you don't think you're ready to do a challenge like that, I think that's the perfect time to do it. After all, it's mostly about learning, and it's not something you ever have to take seriously. You could do a few words and leave it for a year or two. It took me several years to complete my first Hundred Word Challenge, due to me giving up on it several times.

And remember, you can tackle the Hundred Word Challenge how ever you want. Whether that be comics, covers, pictures, characters, or even puns. It's all up to you. :D

I'll give it a try.  I just need a different set of words.
D-Prototype Featured By Owner Sep 23, 2014  Hobbyist General Artist
I think my favorites so far are the second one and the seventh one.   I'll do the second one first, and then the seventh one when I'm finished with that.  Or the other way around.

Ok then, good luck!
I know you can do it! :D

that's quite a list
DanVzare Featured By Owner May 3, 2014
And each word will get at least one comic made for it.
I've done it once before, so a second time shouldn't be too hard.

:police: WAIT! Spoiler alert! This looks like it ends with the emote realizing he can't win on his quest, and turning around and running home! :XD:

And I don't know what "Gilding a Lily" means, so I'm counting on Emoticomic: Season 2 to Enlighten me! :XD:

I actually hadn't read the entire list yet. So it might not actually end like that.
But damn, it really does start to look like that doesn't it.

Also, looking up "Gilding a Lily" says that it means improving the look of something.
