There's a story that goes with this photo.
You might think this spider is trying to kill the ladybird. But quite the opposite is happening here.
I noticed that in the last couple of days these spiders we're around the ladybirds quite a lot. I never knew why.
But today while I was in my garden following them again, a few ants started harassing the ladybird. Walking over it and probably biting near the head.
The next thing that happened blew my mind, the spider stepped in covered the ladybird and the ants just walked away.
It kept covering the ladybird for a while and then it walked away and so did the ladybird. So no-one was hurt.
If you are a biologist and know something more about this than me, please let me know... I'm amazed and puzzled, it was the last thing I expected.
