I'm sorry you feel that way. The idea, design-wise, was to "medieval-ize" The Boss from MGS3, and as a fan of Miura's character work, I wanted each member to homage his work in a different way. All 9 of these group members have a Berserk element (Some of them very very much so). Griffith was indeed chosen here. The Boss + Griffith + An Enchantress-style gem necklace, made up the conceptual brief.
Phil's amazing ability to draw made it come out closer to the source than I imagined, but as a fan of the original I didn't mind at all.
Yeah I may commission a Vecna at some point
