It is a much belated birthday present for my best friend and sister, Kathie (:iconyamigirl21:), but finally, I can call it complete! It is a redraw from back in 2005! I think I've much improved upon it if I do say so myself :P

Though I have many variations on how I digitally color, I wanted this to be more of a soft cel-shaded look, one that I feel I should've attempted better in the past, but I think I kinda half blended and cel shaded...Not sure anymore where I was going with the one in the past. Link below for comparison! :D

Though I've been ridiculously behind on messages, I've taken the last several days to FINALLY begin answering them and catching up on all things here on Deviantart! I sincerely hope you can forgive me for taking THIS long to comment on this beautiful piece, which you did for my sake. Though I did tell you personally how much I truly loved it, I certainly felt you deserved a thorough review of it, for everyone to see! Where can I even begin, my friend?

Without a doubt, this pairing holds a little piece of my heart, to this day, just as they have for the last 13 years. You were there when I originally created this coupling (in a sense...) and you've been there every step of the way, as I wrote their stories to the best of my ability. I feel even this piece tells a story, and not just about the love story that I've been trying to carefully craft in that long span of time, but also about you, and your development as an artist. Though I will always *always* love the original version, especially since it was done during the very height of my love for Yu-Gi-Oh, this new version shows your growth by leaps and bounds, girl! My goodness! You really really should be proud of yourself!

My eyes travel all around the piece as I find more and more to discover; from the various shades of blue in Teana's eyes, to her flowing strands of hair, to the alluring expression you've given my beloved King of Games I see the highlights on their full lips and can't help but focus on the nicely drawn hands on both figures! Heh, but you know I always imagine Yami having very nice hands after all! I'm still flattered that you brought my girl to life with her specific design (headband, beads etc), and that you also used the earrings that I designed for Yami so long ago! Their embrace and intimate stares are just filled with love and passion, and I feel that you portrayed that brilliantly.

I also always appreciate your more realistic take on the characters, all the way down to their unique hair styles even! I always find myself drawing them truer to the original style with a few creative liberties of course, but I feel that your versions definitely have a nice balance of both anime and realism. I even appreciate the different in skin tones between the two! And I can't forget your strong use of light! You always amaze me with your understanding of that aspect, my friend!

What more can I say? I honestly and truly could go on and on about how I love every minute detail of the work, for I meant it when I said that there's just so much to take in when looking at it! But in short, it's a positively breath-taking image, with rich history; in more ways than one. It's a gorgeous gift; one that I'll enjoy viewing time and time again! Thank you again for all of your hard work, for thinking of me, and my everlasting love for these two! It means more than I can possibly say! Thank you so so much!
