Stone Baneling

Material: greenish black galastone (a kind of soap stone, afaik) [link]
Technique: manual tools - saw, chisels, files, sand paper
Weight: 210 g
Size: 8 cm x 6 cm x 4.5 cm

Finished up my baneling. Used differently polished levels to create a color contrast, which worked acceptably well. I'm still a sucker for deep glossy black though, so the next piece will probably go back to being all polished.

Took me a total of some twenty hours (two prep work, ten or so sculpting, another ten for polishing to 120, 320, 600 and finally 1200 grit).

Looks awesome!

I humbly request a sentry with 2 different colors of stone. Black frame, green orb.

Modular sculpt.... now there's an idea. Would make it easier to cast, too. Consider it considered ^^
