A Poor Man's Christmas

This is a bit of general fiction. None of my characters are here. ==================================================================== In a certain city there lived a certain man who, throughout his long life, had served his country and assisted those in need. He fought in several wars, enlisting even after most his age were fine with a simple job or retirement; he gave to charities, donated toys, and did more things for the world than I could possibly list. He also had a wife, who in turn had two children, although they had only been married for a year. The woman had been growing progressively more frustrated at her husband, partly due to h

The Grand Eulogy

My father passed away two years ago at the age of 60, and I wrote this the next day in an attempt to get out my feelings the only way I could figure how -- by using the characters I created. Unfortunately, such a choice also meant my having to face someone I based so heavily on him. Perhaps I made the choice specifically to deal with him, I'm not sure. The things that follow this...prologue, I guess...are exactly as I wrote them that day, including the title, although I added a description of said Phil-based character. His funeral was held a month later and I didn't speak at it, but didn't want to go at first and referred to him as "your hus

Blue Rain

Blue rain drops upon my uncovered head... I walk amongst the aqua droplets a depressed man, for one of my comrades betrayed me to our enemy... I fled, staying with a comrade far away, but once every month the storm that drenched me that horrid night returns... And every Midnight I walk between the droplets, recalling the day... My face turns to one of anger, for that man remains alive, ever taunting me... "One day, he shall meet his end... and it shall be through me."

I looked out from my apartment, still as clean as before this mess began, at a world which had changed so much in 40 years. I was 62 then -- never had a wife, never had any kids. The TV set blared behind me with some crackling signal... "And they are telling all residents that, according to their inside agents, the next attack will wipe out the entire state of California. They are urging residents to leave the state immediately." I tugged at my drab, blue, wool-esque scarf, recalling that memory as my mother (now 97) stood next to me. That was in 2014, shortly after the war began. The first attack set off Hawaii's volcanoes, causing everyon

The woman sighed, looking at the young girl who so calmly asked the question. "Because, little one, there are some in this world who are not.....not right......and cannot listen to those who know what is best for them. These nasty beings decide to hurt others to get their way...including, quite sadly, the most innocent of children." She paused, somewhat uncomfortably. "It....is very complicated, I'm afraid. But that is not the problem. The problem is that they have more on their side than we......myself and my friends......thought." The Infinite Doctor- the annotated version!

Alright, kiddies: Listen up!

Alright, kiddies: Listen up!

So by now I'm sure a lot of us are aware of Congress' attempt to pass a revised version of the SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) act. That one that flipped the entire internet upside down, last year? (I think it was last year. It's been going on for...two years now, I think.)  Anyway, I stumbled on it through a couple dA journals that were vastly inaccurate; frightened at first I decided to further research and that's how I discovered the inaccuracies. I've checked multiple websites and though I can't say for sure, the panic on deviantart is absolutely unwarrented. SO LISTEN UP. THIS IS WHAT THE NEW SOPA TARGETS: This new SOPA gets straight to

Life is Beautiful...

Life is Beautiful...

Isn't it? There are magical moments in life where I get the opportunity to remember that I'm nothing but an insignificant living being among 8 billion others.. on a planet among 8 in a solar system among billions in a galaxy among trillions and all in one universe-- possibly among others?-- where whether or not I died, would hardly leave a mark even in the face of my own city. The world goes on without you. Yet I once realized, that a meaning in life, is to give life a meaning. Live your dreams! You only live once. Don't do idiotic dares for the sake of saying you did them-- go tell that cute boy or girl you like them! Go tell the world

Part Two- Earth It was raining. I stared out the window at the leaves being blown down the street. In Rainess, it was summertime, but somehow it was winter on Earth. That wasn't the biggest difference between the two worlds, however. Not by a long shot. Anxiously I sat in an office in a police station, listening to the endless chatter and ringing of something called a "phone" outside. This world was everything and nothing like I had imagined it. Its science was centuries ahead of my world's. Here they had horseless carriages, devices that communicated through thin air, and boxes which showed sound and pictures. Everything ran off electric

Yes, I'm still alive. :P Not much has happened with me over the past eight months, to be honest, aside from my birthday ($55 in Nintendo eShop cards, $40 cash, two subs from Subway, and a late surprise of a Third Doctor Sonic Screwdriver). Still haven't seen a doctor, and I know I should, although I've been using mouthwash at least once a day as part of my wakeup routine (albeit after some initial paralyzing fears that I'd ingest some). I've also been able to get ahold of some Crystal Pepsi, and holy crap is it delicious. Seriously, I wanted to buy some from Pepsi directly (since it's a limited run, for no apparent reason), but they don't s

Good lord, has it really been over two years since I last made a Journal entry? ...Shows you how much goes on in my life. :P In all seriousness, though, the last two years haven't been entirely unmemorable: * Last year, for instance, I finally managed to get a 3DS for...I think it was $150? I have about a dozen games for it, plus a few I've downloaded via the eShop (I really got into Pokemon Rumble World, for instance). If you want to trade Friend Codes, let me know. :) * The main thing, though, involves my bouts with depression: earlier this year, I finally saw my doctor's office about them. The first doctor I saw (there's three of 'em i

Other than contributing to the Wheel of Fortune History Wiki (http://wheeloffortunehistory.wikia.com; for some reason, the "a href" code refuses to work for this link only)...not much. Back in June, I began uploading again to my YouTube channel, using my Twitter account to help promote it. (I can't believe I've spent nearly five years here and never plugged these. :O) Do you mind if I tell you a little story about that? Of course you don't, it's the internet. :XD: Originally, I uploaded in segments through a convoluted DVD-to-PC transfer method using the audio/video wires of my Xbox (later Xbox 360), a blue audio/video-plug-holes-on-one-end

I was browsing the AzuInsanity wiki a bit ago and I started feeling painfully sentimental, so I decided to give you a shout. Hope you've been doing good, man.

I'm still here, and doing pretty well. :) Sorry I didn't respond before; I've been busy trying (and really, really failing) to catch up on a months-old backlog of "YouTube videos from users I really like".

I know about the video backlog thing. I've got a ridiculous amount of anime I've downloaded and need to watch.
