1965 Ford Mustang Sketch
Graphite pencils on 8.5X11 Canson 90 LB Classic Cream Drawing Paper, 10 hours
This is a preliminary drawing for a painting. I draw out what i want and make sure i have the values down before i start painting. This helps me to also “see” the car i want to paint. The better i see it now, the better my painting will be later.
This is a sketch, not intended to be a great drawing, but this was a frustrating chore as this paper was not very helpful at all. Second drawing in a row where i started cursing my choice of paper. I could continue to search through my pads of paper to find the right one, but decided to not do that and try something new.
Has some great art work in his gallery, and some great tutorials on the internet as well. He recommends 140 lb. Fabriano Artistico Bright White Hot Pressed Watercolor Paper. So i ordered me a pad that should be here before my painting is finished. Here is a link to his tutorials and tips in case you are interested [link] .
Here is the reference photograph that i used [link] .

I don't usually spend this much time on a pencil drawing like this, it's incredible! Love the car choice too.
