Vexel: Vector - Pixel hybrid - [link]
Yet another collaborative work with Maurizio Mancin. This time Maurizio took the pretty mundane Maserati 3200 GT [link] and turned it into a "real" GT car. Working off of his pencil sketch, I did my usual "Vexel" treatment.
Wheels done in 3D Studio (the weakest part of the piece) and the Painting done in Photoshop CS2. Logos were created in CorelDRAW and placed / modified in Photoshop.
I struggled with the color on this one. I think it was at one time or another, every color in the spectrum. I wanted to do it in blue and white like the MC12 Corsa Maserati, but I could never make myself happy with it. Ultimately the "white" paint layer looked the best, so it stayed.

When I was a student there were notebooks with this very picture on the cover! (hope guys who made'em paid you for it)
And not that I needed a notebook but I was like “Oh, my!!! Give me this!”
Now I met this piece on DA and since many years it still looks great
I'll bet you live in Central America - perhaps Honduras. I did a version for a publisher there that makes notebooks. I do a series of cars for them every year.
