Yes, it's the oldest upload here. Where are 1 through 11? They were internal tests of the upload script. Jark asked me to be the first 'outside' member and upload tester. So this was the first external upload. If you'll look at the date, it predates the official opening by 4 days. After testing was complete, I imagine devs 1-11 were deleted.
So besides old, what is it?
When deviant ART was conceived, one of its primary areas of interest was applications "skins". Basically, programs that can be user customized by the creation of or downloading of skins to change their appearance. Like Winamp, Windowblinds, and a ton of others. Back in the day, I was one of a group of "hot shit" skinners, who gained some small notoriety skinning for many applications. A French developer approached me with a partnership deal to develop a skinnable Explorer shell replacement (kind of like Litestep) or add on that we called "Hoverdesk. So this is a screenshot of Hoverdesk in use mimicking a micro OS known as QNX.
Besides Hoverdesk, there are a few other skinable apps shown that complete the transformation. So what you see here is Windows 2000 wearing various skins to change its look and provide alternate / enhanced functionality.
Oh, yeah - Hoverdesk is dead, dead, dead. It was neat at the time, but that time is over.

Didn't realize this was the oldest surviving post here. I happened to come across this by chance while looking for early 2000s computer screenshots, themes, wallpapers, etc.
How old is Hoverdesk, btw? Also does anyone happen to still have any old copies lying around? Sure, they may be obsolete now, but I'd like to mess around with them on older systems just for the hell of it, and as well as to archive them.
