So, I did a thing. Not a terribly expensive thing, but a thing none the less. It's been over ten years since I've had a domain of my own. I suddenly had the urge to have a space that I could call my own. The last time I had my own web site, I could still code a page by memory. But now my skills are rusty and I'm relying on software to get me through this. It's hard to believe it's been that long since I've designed a site. It was one of my favorite hobbies and sucked up so much of my time. I hope to have the new site up soon.
And while making this new site, I started digging through my render folders on my PC and finding some of the very first renders I ever made in Daz, long before I started to utilize other programs for post-work. It's crazy how different my renders are from back when I first started. I even managed to find my very first render from 2018!
I had a limited number of items in my library back then, and I remember my renders came out slowly. I had a much different GPU, one that could barely handle rendering a model with an environment and two models? The old girl couldn't handle it. I'd go straight to the CPU. I was so proud of this picture. She was sort of how I imagined my character, Kina. She was the main reason I started using Daz. I wanted to bring the characters in my head to life--to make scenes to help inspire my writing whenever I got stuck. Well, obviously I've moved beyond that lol. Now I render more than I write!
It may have been two years since I started, but I'm still learning new things every day. It's crazy how much of a difference time can make. I found some renders that were of the same scene, rendered four different ways, and the last being the final version.
Number three will always have a special place in my heart lol. I remember feeling conflicted over it. I liked the style of it, how the denoiser gave it an almost painted look, but it still felt off. It didn't feel like there was any magic. Obviously, I spent a lot of time trying to get the right feel for this scene lol. Number four has the same painted feel, but that was somehow achieved with the lighting. I'm not sure how that happened, but I liked the results!
Well, that's enough of a walk down memory lane. I hope to get another render up in the next few days. I'd really like to get back to my goal of one render a week. I can do it! . . .Probably.
I've lost so many loved ones to cancer in less than a year. And now it's claiming another. I'm not ready to say goodbye. This one hits the hardest.
New setup = more and even bigger renders. I'm so happy.
No new render this week, unfortunately. I'm recovering from Covid. It's been a rough few days. I'm also taking care of two sick adults.
Hope everyone is well. I'm back from a little "me" break. I'm hoping to post something up later this week.
You guys are so awesome! I want to thank everybody for the faves on
and give a big hello to the new watchers. 200 is a big milestone for me. I really appreciate everyone's support!
