This is utterly amazing! I love how depending on your interpretation, the ravens look like they are tearing away from the character to fly or become free, turning into him (or him into them) in a metamorphosis, or emanating from him as if he can control or summon the birds. Either way, the symbolism of the ravens both as the type of birds that they are and their specific actions in this piece is frankly incredible.
The extremely simple color palette only adds to the dramatic effect of this artwork, and I like how there is red outlining along the ravens to distinguish their wings from the body and the other birds when needed. The sense of movement in this piece is also incredible, the figure's hair flows behind him with impressive motion and the overt motion of the flying, diving, and ascending ravens is magnificent. The fact that both the figure's hair and parts of the ravens transcend the border of the page is amazing and helps bring the drawing to life (though I do feel that if there was more hair extending past the red background, or at least thicker areas of hair to match the thicker shapes of the birds, it may have created a better counter balance). On the topic of balance, I like how the use of smooth geometric shapes like the background contrast nicely against the angular, jagged shapes present in the bird's wings and the edges of the figure's clothes.
All in all, this is an amazing piece of art with an effective yet simple color scheme, an excellent use of balance, motion, and shape, and evocative symbolism and composition. Amazing job!
It has a very mysterious aura about it and in-depth feeling. The textures are very well done, as are the color contrast to bring to attention the major feeling you're projecting to your audience. It has its own message and the more you pay attention to the mood it offers to you the clearer its story becomes. Its simple yet very complex in its own way and it's obvious that hard work and thought was put into the beautiful details.
I recognize this as art in which the viewer shall translate the feeling themselves. Please keep up the great work
oooo I loooove this. especially the raven closest on the right..!!
although I like the concept around the pants into the raven its a liiiittle confusing.
Also I really like that the ravens come past your solid red background.. very eye catching!
I think the leg closest might be a bit too long orrrr... not transition well enough into the raven....
and lastly the hair coming out the front of your figure is a little confusing. the rest of the hair seems to have a certain direction to it, making the image look like its moving in action and then two strands going in the opposite direction making me question if the figure is moving forward or downwards.
but they're the only things I can see to Critique and its really grasping at straws... - hope my novice eye helps...
