Last May I had the luck to be invited to the inauguration of an exhibition by an Italian painter Eugenio Vanfiori, whose theme was the amusement park world. Mr. Vanfiori was born to a family of travelling park owners, so he spent his whole childhood among park rides and carousels travelling all around Italy.
I this little project, I didn't simply show Mr. Vanfiori's works, but what they evoked in me as a viewer. Indeed, the titles aren't those of the artist's original paintings, but the feelings and memories they brought to me. These photos are me sharing what I felt at the exposition with you.
When my son was a child, the city we lived in was visited by a travelling amusement park each summer, and he would love to spend evening after evening there. We became friends with the owners of a couple of rides, so in these paintings I saw many memories of a happy time in my life.
As for Mr. Vanfiori, his works are really beautiful on their own merit: they are very expressive when seen in real life, and they brought back such vivid memories to me. If you're interested in his paintings, you can find all contacts here.
