I'd been spending more time on Flickr, their submit process is easier to work with, but they've changed the hoops you have to jump through to share pic's on other sites, so here I am again!

I haven't used flickr in forever so I don't know how the submission system is working now, but their new interface, with the auto-loading images as we scroll down, is so heavy as it makes any browser slow and don't work as smoothly as it should even with a fast broadband connection.

It does take time to load what is now essentially 2 long pages. I just wish dA had an upload system and organization system as functional as Flickr. That would be terrific!

Yeah, I agree. I was going to say "I wish there would be the option to turn that off and just have pages loading normally because I don't mind a bit more of clicking" but I don't know if it already exists. I remember lots of people complained about the new Flickr galleries.

So many of these online photosites come close to being perfect, but there's always some glitch or need for improvement. dA has a much better method of commenting and replying on pics, flickr has better management tools. Oh well, someday maybe!

My problem with DA is that it turned from a great art site into something it wasn't supposed to become. It turned into a kind of social network for anti-social people.

Because of that, many great artists withdrew from here, and the more good people give up on DA, the percentage of scum in the site gets bigger. You, as a nude art photographer, must understand what I mean. Every nude artist in here must take lots of shit daily.

I had profiles here and am ready to try again.... but I basically take DA, as a community, as a lost cause.

I hear what you are saying! The staff used to keep a good level of control on content and you could count on a level of civility among the commenters. It had class. Now? Not so much...

Like, one of the most useful parts of DA was the nude stocks, because sometimes, the best reference for drawing figures is drawing a nude. Sometimes we're not trying to draw a pose, but trying to get the skin, muscles and shades right.
There were lots of great nude models with stock pictures in here (because as a photographer, you know, we must take care about not using works with copyrights) But many of them withdrew. And it's a pity, becausae if you see the nude stock section now, it's mostly smut that's useless for artists. If you search, you'll see many of the older stock artists still have stuff online, but DA's new stance itself discouraged new models and so we don't have new reference models willing to bare themselves. Serious amateur models got 100% discouraged to post anything in DA. Only the skanky, camwhores are left. And their "work" can barely be used as reference.

Of course, there are a lot of artists like SenshiStock and other girls like her who do a great service providing POSE reference stocks. But all those new artists wear tights and bikinis and underwear. It's not the same as drawing a nude. Because of the sociopaths, this is the further a woman is willing to bare their skin nowadays. And I'm not saying that like a pervert wanting to see nudes. There are lots of nudes to see for anyone who wants it. But to see new, fresh stock works, decent works that show a full body in a neutral backdrop, a respectful nude in candid poses, with open copyrights, that we can draw and post in here, it's just not happening anymore. And, again as a photographer, you know that sometimes depending on the work, even if the person is polite and ask for permission to use one of your pics for drawing reference, you can't just give it.

Sorry if I'm getting longer, but this is a matter that frustrates me much here in DA.

I totally understand where you are coming from! Before, at least some level of professionalism was expected, now it's a free for all!

I was on flickr but the submission and everything was incredulous. So I just uploaded with instagram. But then I got banned from instagram for too many boobies.... So now I upload to easy places...

It's getting harder to find good places to work out of.

That's true.
