Gymnast V

This is a higher magnification version of the original "Gymnast". This little bee was semi-active; it would move around a for a while and then stop, and when it stopped I'd look for another composition. I shot it for well over an hour, and I'm still processing images from that session.

Tech Specs: Canon 1D Mark III (F13, 1/250, ISO 100) + a Canon MPE-65mm macro lens (@ >2.5x) + a diffused MT-24EX. I used a grape leaf to keep the background from being black.
