The critter wanted to run from me and the lens, but it had to suck in that drop first...

i hate bugs but that is a pretty cool shot. you never get to see things like that and you don't realize how complex these little creatures are...which makes it so much more satisfying when they crunch under a shoe...sorry had to say that :)

Always hand held -I was bracing my hand on the window sill to keep everything steady. At 4x the frame is only about 5.25mm wide by 3.5mm high, so there isn't a lot of room for error. Scenes like that one come and go so quickly that I'd never be able to use a tripod...

I'm using handheld too, but it's very dificult to me get the right focus and 1:1.

With the bugs the problem are bigger, because they move too much :D
