Fishing MisshapNathaniel held tight to his large lilac dire, as the big lug traversed the valley. The young man was just starting to train Bruinen, one of the newest of his pack and while the big boy was gorgeous he was extremely clumsy. Nathaniel steered the large dire North, heading for the river that carved it’s path through the Earth not two miles from where they were “Alright boy, let’s get going! Remember the faster we get to the river the more time you get to swim and fish.” he laughed feeling the lilac jolt under him as Bruinen took off as quick as he could. Urging the dire faster, Nathaniel gripped the reins tighter as the dire leapt off...

The River Below“Whether you spend you life living in the woods or you are new to the greens around you, disasters can happen. An animal could come out of nowhere and attack you, you could lose your footing and break something, or a storm could roll in faster than imaginable.” Nathaniel loved being out in the woods, he had lived there ever since he was little and moving anywhere else would be unheard of. Letting out a small sigh the black haired man saddled up his restless and clumsy mount. Nathaniel had been busy the past several days, working on a new building project, to his dismay he didn’t realize he was neglecting his Tokotas. That is until Br...

Trash, sticks and an old bootDakaido Bruinen was sitting on a small hill that in reality really wasn’t more than a mole hole. He had the tongue sticking out and he was smiling at Nathaniel who patted him on the shoulder. It was a hot day and the work with picking up trash, help with re-planting native flora and relocate stressed animals was going to be tiring, even though it wasn’t a very hard job. It was first on the day and already almost too hot, so Bruinen and Nathaniel had found some shadow and were waiting for their assigned partner. The reasoning behind using tokotas to carry the trash bags were simple. They were big enough to carry one on each side...

four is a crowdAs winds whistled through the mountains and sailed through an endless expanse of sky, Harley couldn't believe this valley - honestly it was closer to a fjord - wasn't teeming with Tokotas and their riders. The impossibly blue sky was mirrored in the winding river that snaked through the fjord, and the cold air was crisp and fresh. With her rear and the soles of her boots planted firmly to the ground, she watched as the four companions she had brought along with her explored the new landscape. The small, rag-tag group all varied drastically in appearances, but otherwise seemed to get along decently. Decently being, there had yet to be any p...

london's bridgesAs if the current task at hand wasn't already difficult enough, Harley was surrounded by three Tokotas she knew, two she sort of knew, one that had showed up without invitation, plus a black cat and a raven that accompanied the aforementioned Tokotas falling under the 'sort of knew' spectrum. Atka, Rin and Bruinen had accompanied her, just as they had the last time, but they had went back to her home to retrieve Massak and Hossek. As for Magnos, he seemed to disappear and reappear whenever he was least expected - or welcome - but Harley didn't mind his presence as long as he kept from aggravating those within her invited party. The rider cl...

[Exploring] Beach BumsRunning a tokota training business was not as easy as it sounded, but Luke loved every minute of it. Most 10 year olds dipped their toes in the world of entrepreneurship by selling lemonade, or cookies, or other small favours, but Luke was a small boy with big dreams. With a little bit of Diana’s help with advertising, he had managed to secure jobs training dozens of tokotas from their own village, and even some from the city.Today, his charges were a mixed bunch. He called them one by one from the paddock to prepare them for their journey for the day. First came Bruinen, a massive, gorgeous, lilac blue dire with a big attitude and a sof...
