Shammatu: Solar Priestess of the Black Bloom.

Published:

Description

She is not queen, nor goddess — but something older.

Shammatu walks the scorched threshold between light and void, where dying stars whisper secrets and obsidian flowers bloom from ash. As the Solar Priestess of the Black Bloom, she does not worship the sun — she commands its silence.

Her golden halo is carved with celestial glyphs, relics of an Anunnaki rite long forgotten by men. In the presence of the dying sun, she conducts the Rite of the Eclipse, a ritual that demands no voice, only presence. The petals that grow at her feet bloom only in shadow — they feed on prophecy and pain.

She guides those who seek forbidden knowledge through solar visions — but her price is memory. To be touched by her gaze is to lose a name, a lover, or a piece of the soul.

Once every 66 cycles, she appears beneath the black zodiac, where the veil is thinnest, her skin wrapped in ceremonial black silk, her gold ornaments humming with ancient resonance. In that moment, she is both threshold and temple.

They call her Shammatu, but none know her true name. Only that she is priestess to a sun that no longer rises.
