Reichstag Dome by daguerreoty-pe Reichstag Dome by daguerreoty-pe
My first day with a fish-eye lens. Certainly not the last one.

Daily Deviation

Given 2010-12-24
Reichstag Dome by ~daguerroty-pe makes delicious use of a wide-angle lens to fit as much architectural detail as possible into one shot, without the scene being needlessly cluttered. ( Suggested by ChewedKandi and Featured by arbitrarynamechange )

Wow, that architecture is beautiful! And the fish-eye lens seems to have a really neat effect on the image. I got a long way to go before I can start experimenting with different lenses, but this makes me definitely want to try at some point. Congrats on your DD!

Wow! Let's certainly hope its not your last day with your fish-eye lens! Wonderful photograph, where did you take this? It looks really spectacular, the way you captured this little moment. Can't wait to see more!

It was taken inside the Reichstag Dome, in Berlin: [link](building)

It was early morning, since it's a very popular destination for tourists, and I didn't want to wait a long time in the line. I rented a fish-eye lens the day before, to see what kind of photographs I could take (both with my DSLR and with the analog SLR). I returned the lens that same evening, and I will soon buy one (maybe not that same model, but I definitely love the possibilities that fish-eye lenses offer, both distorted, like this one, and "straightened" via the post-processing software correction).

Grazie :-)
