Part 3--

Download!! This thing is hugeeeeee xDD

Uhm, well... I've been drawing a little more, but I haven't been able to produce anything really pretty. So I made you guys a tutorial. 8D

A lot of the time I see people mixing up features from canines and felines (usually they're too used to drawing one of them) So I made a list of facts in the hopes that it may be helpful to someone. I tried to do the most generic shapes of canine/ big cat types, so I went with a wolf and an African Leopard.

Just as a disclaimer, I am in no way an anatomy expert. I am not forcing this way of drawing on anyone. x3 The absolute best way to learn anatomy is to look up references and study life!!

Also, sorry it's so sketchy. I was too lazy to lineart all of this. Yugh... Plus, I think the construction lines are actually helpful to see in some cases.

If anything is unclear, just ask and I'd be happy to clarify. :3

Canine v. Feline Anatomy Tut. by *Daesiy -- Suggester's words: i learned a lot from this tutorial, and it should get more known, as it helps enormously. it clearly compares the most drawn animals, and it is easy to understand. ( Suggested by Klissie and Featured by FantasyStock )

My veterinarian sister just tried to tell me there were no differences between feline legs and dog legs. Well then.

Thanks for the tutorial! :D

Thank you for the tutorials, especialy Part 3. You are right about "studying life and anatomy is the best way to learn". Sadly, drawing beginers are focused on "drawing books" even if they can learn alot in other category.
For exemple, Sculpture books are good study about volumes, but pepole still rush into
"how to draw manga/fantasy/other style" sort of books even for that part of learning...

You deserve this DD, and i forgot to ask before, but i linked your works in one of mines,
as your tutorials show things way better than the one i've done. Anyway, Gratz for the DD ^^

This is an excellent resource! A lot of people - myself included at times - just sort of use an inconsistent, all-purpose mash up for both canines and felines. Thank you for clearing up confusion!

I used to always draw my wolves the same way I drew my cats, as I had much more experience drawing the cats. I knew there was a distinct difference but it was never really demonstrated to me before. Seeing it outlined here is incredibly helpful thank you so much for all of your help :)

This will help me no longer screw up my cat anatomy. I have done dogs first and trying to draw lions lately and now I know why they are not working. To much dog anatomy in them.
