Wonder Woman and Hela by daekazu Wonder Woman and Hela by daekazu
I saw Thor Ragnarok 2 weeks ago and I won't be original. It's a very good part. I love Hela.
I regret that she didn't have more time on the screen.
It is also interesting that Thor and Wonder Woman are based on mythology, so in favorable conditions they could... meet.
Both Hela and Hades rule the world of the dead. And because Wonder Woman's father is Zeus, I see this crossover like that. ;]

Hades isn't the Greek God of Death though, he's the Greek God of the Underworld. Thanatos is the Greek God of Death.

Don't know why but that's what Marvel studios calls her

well her name is just Hel, with one l, this is how she was imagined by a Scandinavian tv series a few years ago: 68.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mct…

and her father: 68.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mct…
I think thou know that guy, I don't know why Marvel always depicts him with these dumb horns.
He is the god of mischief and deception, that is not exactly the same as evil, just as Hel, the goddess of death is not... well she is not the best company at parties, as Njord pointed out, she smells of sulfur, but then again that is coming from the guy that always smells of fish.

I'm familiar with the accurate Norse depictions and backstory of Hel but I have to say, it's nice to see other people's interpretations of her.

On another note her name means hidden and she is described as half dead in a literal way, half her body is rotting away while the other is whole and living. In one Marvel comic they show her true appearance of being both half alive and half dead

I haven't heard that depiction of Hel but there is also not always a consensus about how the æsir should be depicted. Some depicts Loki as having red hair, while others claim that it was black and so on.
But I am generally a little annoyed about how comic book companies and tv channels reinterpret old mythological characters.
They can rape them as much as they wont, because they grandfather copyright laws, while no one is even allowed to mention newer characters without paying a royalty.
The original idea behind copyright is that it should be little different from patents, that is it should just be to protect the initial profit and would expire within a few years, 20 at most.
How old is Mickey Mouse? 100, just about, and he still falls under copyright laws.

I don't have a problem with public domain, it is ridiculous that big companies can apparently postpone their characters transition to it indefinitely, but people should still respect the original characters in it. At least the spirit of what they represented. And I don't think that Marvel and BBC does that.

Yeah, the Norse texts are vague when it comes to the depictions of their Gods and Goddesses but I think Marvel has done well to depict some characters quite accurately in their cartoons and possibly comics. I'm still unsure on what to think of the live action movie depictions

Well first of all, when it comes to Loki, then I hate how Marvel have made him into a complete villain, when that was never his character in the myth. He was Thor's best friend, that never changed, his antics just ended up being too much for the æsir when he inadvertently got Balder killed, and everyone loved Balder.
I think part of the problem is that Marvel simply got confused over the fact that there are two entities in norse mythology that is both named Loki.
Our buddy Loki, full of fun and mischiff
and Outgard-Loki who was a genuinely antagonistic Jötunn, and all around nasty fellow. This gut could never betray Thor, because he never had Thor's confidence. In many adventures Thor and Loki faced up against him together.

As for the life action, I think it shows a lack of ideas coming from Hollowwood, (I mean Hollywood).

Superheroes have always irritated me, because they are a sign of decadence.
The reader, the reason why the reader would be interested in reading about such utterly fantastic beings, is because he himself are impotent and uses it as escapism rather then a way to build himself.
Real heroes are supposed to inspire. They makes people better, simply by people hearing about them. And America had real heroes, in the 19th century. Folk heroes, like for instance David Crockett that ended his days sacrificing himself at the Alamo.
But it wasn't this act of martyrdom that made him a hero, he already were one, from the many exploits of his youth, this was just his last act.
And he was as i said, just one example out of dozens if not hundreds.
But he was a real person, and that is what folk heroes are, real people that does extraordinary things.

Superheroes on the other hand don't inspire, because what they do are impossible. Rather then being an inspiration, they are the opposite, they are part of the chains that keep people down, because they reinforces the notion that normal people can't make a difference.

The point of superheroes is to tell people that what they deemed impossible can be possible if they put in the hard work. But I guess that portrayal died out quite some time ago.

Did you know that Superman was created by 2 Jews who had to flee to America when Nazis started attacking the Jewish community. They described America as an alien country and didn't feel that they belonged. They portrayed this by creating the alien superhero Superman who lost his world and had to live on an alien planet

Actually if you go with the cartoon and some comics, Zeus would be the uncle and Hades the dad (which was a lot more interesting to be honest).

WARNING! Carry on reading! Or you will die, even if you only looked at the word warning! Once there was a little girl called Clarissa, she was ten-years-old and she lived in a mental hospital, because she killed her mom and her dad. She got so bad she went to kill all the staff in the hospital so the More-government decided that best idea was to get rid of her so they set up a special room to kill her, as humane as possible but it went wrong the machine they were using went wrong. And she sat there in agony for hours until she died. Now every week on the day of her death she returns to the person that reads this letter, on a Monday night at 12:00 a.m. She creeps into your room and kills you slowly, by cutting you and watching you bleed to death. Now send this to ten other pictures on this one site, and she will haunt someone else who doesn't. This isn't fake. apparently, if you copy and paste this to ten comments in the next ten minutes you will have the best day of your life tomorrow. You will either get kissed or asked out, if you break this chain u will see a little dead girl in you
