I rewatched the whole 90's season with Pegasus too and I forgot how cool that one was.
I wasn't impressed either. First off, it still carried all the same problems that plagued Crystal, with the only actual improvements being purely superficial. They threw a load of stuff at you that never recieved any reasonable degree of development due to the already ropey plot still insisting on going like the clappers.
It took them this long to give the Inners some actual focus, none of which was particually good nor meaningful. It certainly doesn't appologize or redeem them from the utter jokes they've been treated as, especially since they still needed bailing out by the Outers. Infact the vast majority of the cast were poorly utilized, and had very little to no character, meaning that again you had to supply most of the substance for yourself in order to remotely care.
The actual Eternal forms themselves didn't turn up until right at the very end and did little besides look tacky.
Additionally all the antagonists still have zero personality and were totally generic to the point of tedium.
Really it was just another cheap and easy cash grab that had little thought or effort put into it, that no one would otherwise have given the time of day to if it had been an independant product. :/
