Well actually no, I would not charge $1k for an image, I only meant it's fair to do so, sorry if I was unclear 
Personally I don't care so much for the sheer amount of money, 'cause I live in a healthy welfare state and am mostly financially secured. For me it's more about the project itself, and the people I might be able to meet, work and become friends with or the reputation that comes with the project and me being able to say "Hey, I worked on that project and it was fun"
So, considering your budget the price range is between $185-$375 per image and with my skills I would be able to commit 15-20 images in 6 months to your project. That's what I can offer you. My price per pic would always be inside that limit. It just depends on what I have to paint (characters, backgrounds, whole scenes, props.. etc).
I simply won't be able to make 80 pics in 6 month, but maybe if you have like card sets, like 5 cards with the same theme or something like that, I would be honored to do them
