Godzilla is King of the Monsters
I drew this after I saw "Godzilla, King of the Monsters" but decided not to post it right away since it contained spoilers; now that the movie has been out for nearly a month (and people were already spoiling it days after its premiere anyway) I figured it's okay to share this at last.

This is based on my favorite scene in the movie, although it did leave me wondering what exactly Godzilla would do with such a variety of creatures under his beck and call...perhaps the next movie opens with the other monsters mowing his lawn and cleaning out his garage?
Scapula Doubly Dark and Deadly

It's a triple header of double terror tales! This twisted tome contains three brand-new stories of the World's Worst Villain and the dark weirdos who cross his path...

Rawkum Nawkum Punks!: Naughty young Nazz and her crew The Halloween Gang have entered the roughest, toughest battle of the bands ever...but they didn't bother to see what happens to the losers. Will these kids survive the carnage, especially when they're up against the queen of shock?

Jemini's Copycat Counterattack: Jemini has returned with her most powerful weapon ever...perky Dio Sukuri! But whose team is the little brat really on? What dread power does this mysterious weirdo wield? Whatever it is, every villain wants it, resulting in the strangest gang war/love affair of all time!

Dominion: The mind of a madman is a bad place to be, especially if he desires what happens to the people who are locked away in Scapula's subconscious? Can five unusual women break free from the dark depths, and are they willing to betray one another to escape?

This collection also includes:
This is Jemini: The origin story of Jemini and how she became such a vicious (but trendy) mob boss.

So You Want to Join the Halloween Gang: A complete rundown of everything you need to know about surviving in this crew of idiots!

The Many Loves of Scapula: The complete tragic history of how a jerk with a skull-face struggles to get a date.

Last Call: One last party night with the villains!

You can grab yourself a copy at the Scapula Store in a two-pack with Scapula and the Sinister Monster Doom Legion.

Five Favorite Frankenstein Films
2018 marks the 200th anniversary of Mary Shelley’s classic, Frankenstein. Seen here are some of the many drawings I’ve done of the ol’ Monster from my top five favorite Frankenstein films:

"Son of Frankenstein" (1939)

A lot of snobby critics seem to think that only James Whale could make good Frankenstein movies for Universal, but I'd still make the argument that Rowland V. Lee's entry is far superior. It boasts a smart story, beautiful art direction, and amazing performances by Basil Rathbone, Lionel Atwill, and especially Bela Lugosi as Ygor. Although some folks may be upset that Boris Karloff isn't at the center of attention for this movie he still gets his best moment ever as the Monster when he discovers the death of a certain character...

"Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein" (1948)

Possibly the best of the 'A&C meet the Monsters' films (heck, maybe even the best A&C film period), this horror-comedy was a strangely fitting end to the Universal Frankenstein series and remains a fan favorite to this day.

"Frankenstein Conquers the World" (1965)

While I do admit my favorite parts of this movie are the 'bonus' kaiju (Baragon and Oodako), they really are just the 'dessert'; the real meal of the story is the origin of the new Frankenstein monster, whose immortal heart is smuggled by Nazis during WWII into Japan just in time for the Hiroshima bombing. The result is a part-crazy, part-creepy movie that's a bit different in tone and style than Toho's Godzilla films but is still just as entertaining.

"Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell" (1974)

It's far from being the most critically acclaimed of the Hammer series, and yeah, Peter Cushing and David Prowse both look kinda' silly, but I still say this is a solid horror film and a fitting swan song to Cushing's long and beloved run as Dr. Frankenstein. The insane asylum setting is perfectly creepy and even if the monster costume is stiff and lifeless it still has a very cool design (and hey, I personally prefer monsters to be monstrous!).

"Young Frankenstein" (1974)

With all due respect to Bud and Lou, THIS is truly the greatest Frankenstein comedy of all, if not the greatest horror-comedy of all time. Gene Wilder and Mel Brooks really did their homework in recreating the genre classics while still bringing original (and hysterical) material to the mix; the result is the perfect parody and loving homage to the legend of Frankenstein.  Blücher!

Rocket Grunt's Lament
I just remembered that 2018 is the 20th anniversary of Pokemon in America (I had the Blue version, which I used to play on my old gray Game Boy with the little spinach screen), so I drew something for the occasion.

You have a rockin' black suit, a gang of thugs to back you up, and a team of rats, bats, snakes, dream-eating tapirs and living pollution at your command...and you still get clobbered by a wandering little kid.

Big Batty Beastly Creature Show
