Description

One thing that annoys me is when SJWs try to force representation on certain creators instead of creating their own characters for representation. A good example was when people were demanding that Elsa from Frozen be black or Inuit instead of a fair-skinned blonde with blue eyes, or demanding that Disney include transgender characters in their movies.

Sometimes there's reasons for lack of representation. Frozen is supposed to take place in the 1800s (around the time The Snow Queen was written), so it's highly unlikely that there would be any black characters, and there is simply no way that the ruler of a 19th century Scandinavian kingdom would be black. The reason why Disney doesn't have any transgender characters is because if Disney did include transgender characters, their movies would not be rated G or PG, and Disney presents itself as a kid-friendly company. Demanding that Kristoff be replaced with an "Ethiopian deaf trans man" (as one SJW on Tumblr claimed) isn't going to make Disney listen to you.

I see this with OCs sometimes too. Forcing people to have more diversity in their OCs is not a good thing. While I would love to see more dark-skinned OCs for various fandoms, I'd rather create such OCs myself than forcing other people to create them. If you want a overweight blind black autistic trans woman with six fingers on one hand, create one yourself. Don't force Disney to do it.

If someone's OCs are all white, don't force them to create a nonwhite OC. Similarly, if someone's OCs are all nonwhite, don't force them to create a white OC. If someone's OCs are all cisgender, don't force them to create a transgender/nonbinary/etc. OC. You get the point. Try for representation yourself by creating more minority characters for your own stories or having minority OCs. You can't force other people to do it for you.
