Description

The Glock NSP (Nervensystempistole) is a semi-automatic combat-oriented handgun designed and manufactured by the well-known independent Earthern firearms and equipment manufacturer Glock. While independent, the Glock company has been closely partnered with Steyr, another reputable arms manufacturer from Earth, since 2160.

The Glock NSP pistols are 10mm handguns specifically designed to utilize the neural weapon link technology integral to the guns, enabling a user with compatible biocybernetic augmentations to link with the weapon for greatly enhanced weapon familiarity and theoretical combat performance. The original Glock NSP (later designated GEN 1) was unveiled in 2167, and featured a cable-based neural link for brainmodded operators. The 2nd generation variant (GEN 2) was introduced in 2178 and featured a wireless neural link (WELIN) module that was integrated into the frame of the weapon alongside an on-board power supply stored in the backstrap area of the gun. The WELIN technology integration was provided by INSEKT, a German specialist provider of high-end micro-electronics interfacing with neural systems and cyberware. Both the GEN 1 and GEN 2 variants were heavily based on an existing Glock model, specifically the gas-delayed NM20 models.

While WELIN weapons don't see widespread use compared to ordinary 'dumb' guns, the Glock NSP is considered one of the default no-nonsense options for anyone looking to arm themselves with a rugged and reliable WELIN weapon as long as the cost is of no issue. The NSP is known for its high system security, long battery life, good capacity, and ample firepower. In the hands of a suited operator, it is capable of taking repeat, accurate shots even at longer ranges.

The Glock NSP (GEN 2) is a semi-automatic handgun designed for cyborgs and requires cyberware compatible with wireless neural weapon link technology to use. The weapon utilizes a gas-delayed blowback mechanism and is chambered in the 10×25mm ESSP pistol cartridge. It feeds from special 17-round magazines that interface electronically with the gun, allowing the user to always know how many rounds remain in the inserted magazine. Like most WELIN guns, the pistol has built-in electronic safety linked to the cyberware in the user's gun hand, and also lacks traditional iron sights and mounting surfaces for other sighting devices. Otherwise, the gun operates like a normal semi-automatic handgun.

The exhibit showcased above is the GEN 2 variant with its integrated WELIN-W/L client (Weapon Link, Neural - Wireless) being located under the barrel, ahead of the trigger. The WELIN client found on GEN 2 pistols is the WV-6/K provided by German biocyberware electronics specialist INSEKT. This specific example has a typical Austrian proof mark on the slide.

Heh...Tech advances... but old good pulse rifles still makes the best effort... wish they produce more of such weapons ... Not those silly "blasters" that's gives you an electric bill's! And blow everything up with plasma! And those fancy things called fhazeurs or something like that, that's hypnotize your foes and make them "sleepy"... nah, just load up casseless and shoot the diemon in a whackling guts! That's what military done all days before. Now "toy" lines production is upping to skies, not a bad thing I say but old good pulsers... and a fatty lizard woman wearing micro kini that's laying in ya bed is all you need in this world. Can't change that! Cara! Can't change that!!! *an warm laughter*
