FNNK Type 61-2 Neo

Description

The Type 61-2 Neo is a Japanese revolver based on the older Type 61 from 2161. It is designed, manufactured, and marketed by the Nagebayaki Corporation (traditionally known as FNNK), a massive industrial conglomerate megacorporation originating from dozens of domestic Japanese mergers of companies such as Mitsubishi, Sumitomo, and Mitsui.

The Neo was introduced in 2170 and is an unorthodox take on the revolvers of the late 19th century, being a double-barrelled revolver utilizing special two-piece drums with 8 rounds of high-velocity 7.5mm PDW ammunition. Most of the gun's frame is made from a near-perfected aluminium alloy that is very lightweight and cheap, but strong enough to survive several thousands of rounds fired with no issue. The ammo cylinders themselves are made from a sturdier aluminium-titanium alloy to survive the chamber pressures of the FN 7.5 mm cartridge.

While not as popular as the original Type 61, the Neo has managed to scrape by on very mediocre sales to a wide variety of clientele. Although the gun's ammunition loses some performance due to being fired from pistol-length barrels, it remains powerful enough to defeat basic Class 2S soft body armour at normal engagement distances. The gun's size and two barrels are considered imposing traits by some, acquiring the gun almost entirely based on intimidation value and limited yet tangible post-2191 pop-culture appearances.

The Type 61-2 Neo is a full-sized, double-barreled, DAO revolver. It utilizes two-piece ammunition cylinders housing eight rounds of FN 7.5×35mm. The gun is designed to be reloaded with new cylinders entirely, and an empty cylinder is able to be easily removed from the gun's crane when it is swung out to the left. By depressing the lock button on the rear cover of the cylinder, the cover can be twisted to separate it from the main cylinder body, allowing access to the rounds or spent cases inside. The gun can fire one or both barrels at the same time. The standard barrel unit is roughly 5 inches long and includes an accessory rail along the bottom section. The barrel unit is easily replaceable with shorter or longer barrel variants, with 3-inch and 7-inch barrels being available.
