How long have you been on DeviantArt? Almost five years now.
What does your username mean? Okay, long and embarrassing story. It was church camp, think I was 14. My brother warned me that despite the environment it would be, pranks should be expected. So yeah, started when I interrupted an attempted prank on me. First off, those guys just couldn't be good at keeping a secret. Suddenly stopped talking when I walked into the dorms, then when they left I noticed my key was missing. Room mate sucked at being subtle about it, too, couldn't stop giggling. So yeah, turned out I was awake when they tried to paint my finger nails. They silently left. So I took advantage of the fact that I was wide awake and the door was open to see what other pranks were taking place. Shaving cream on the door knobs seemed about it, but then I heard a chase going on down the hall, but too dark to make out, so I went to bed, of course locking the door. The pranksters at least had the decency to leave my key afterwards. So, next day I learned from a friend that some people were chasing a dude in a gorilla suit for trying to scare them. So I responded, "if I ever see that monkey, I'm going to pop a cap in him!"
People, watchers, any who stumble on my page, remember that I was once a stupid little 14-year-old.
...Still a little stupid
.
Friend, however, found this funny, and exclaimed, "Daniel is about to rock this place! I know, we'll call you D-Rock!" And it has stuck all of these years. Some people at the church still call me that. Even those that joined much later after these events. I've obviously embraced it. The 92 was added because someone else had "D-Rock," so I simply added the year I was born.
So yeah, now you know the absolutely weird reason I have my name. Hope you enjoyed! ![]()
Describe yourself in three words. Dry, straightforward, mild.
Are you left or right handed? Right.
What was your first deviation? May have been this
What is your favourite type of art to create? It used to be traditional, but I've really started to get the hang of digital.
If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be? Maybe realistic. I have an incredibly long way to go, especially since I still can't really draw organic subjects, and I've gotten really attached to my "cartoony" style.
What was your first favourite? This piece of beauty.
I mentioned this one as well in last years commemorative DA journal!
What type of art do you tend to favourite the most? I don't have a set favorite, as I find something to admire in everything, be it cartoony, realistic, real life, even the occasional dark. Recently got really into weapons designs when I started following the Three of Pentacles group.
Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist? I don't have a single one. Each one provides their own unique way of entertaining us, of capturing our attention.
If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be? I'd like to meet all of them. Funny, I once mentioned to one of them that I wouldn't know if I should refer to them by their username or real name in that case.
How has a fellow deviant impacted your life? Yeah, CHAOKOCartoons recruited me to submit designs for the fan game, Thread Bound, which let me really have fun with my designs. I would be a bit more forward with getting involved with a team when CrazyRatopia restarted the Housepets! game. I've become more comfortable with this, overall.
What are your preferred tools to create art? Still pencil and paper, but a scanner lets me go digital. I did use crayons once, though.
What is the most inspirational place for you to create art? In my room, but I also tend to have songs playing, which helps get the creative spirit going.
What is your favourite DeviantArt memory? As mentioned, getting more involved in projects than I normally would. I'm slightly more open about myself, now.
