Inktober Day 26 - Hide

David: “Whatcha doing, Dad?”
Armon: “David! I’m, uh...you see...”
David: “Is that a skin?”
Armon: “...y-yes?”
David: “What’re you doing with it?”
Armon: “...leather-making...”
David: “Huh, cool.”
Armon: “...”
David: “Okay, I’m going to go play with Marble. Bye!”
Armon: “...did...did I ruin him?”

Admittedly Armon didn’t fully plan out how he’d explain predator behavior to a rabbit. Thankfully for him, David caught on easily. Perhaps it came with being a species that knows it’s always on borrowed time.

They don’t use the leather for clothing, especially as it would definitely freak out settlements, but it does allow them to make straps for equipment.
