Lazarus Lemming now available on Comixology

When digital comics distributor Comixology opened up their platform to independent creators, writer John Gatehouse and I decided submit a  collection of  our Lazarus Lemming  comic strips. The strips were originally created for UK children's comics anthology The DFC. The thirty eight page page comic is now available for sale on Comixology, it can be found here - http://cmxl.gy/11zYuDI

Hi Dave. It's Coleen who commissioned the Buster & Babs drawing at Blackburn Comic Con. I received it in the post today. I love it. Thank you. You have such amazing work. :)

Also, I heard a while back that DC Thomson where planning on reviving The Wizard - and you were part of it! This is just an idea but your proposed strip, 'The Roaches' - why not pitch it to The Dandy - with Craig already being familiar with it - he may choose to add you to the growing team!

IThe Roaches was a Dandy generated project with me being brought on board because I had drawn Oggy and the Cockroaches for Wikid.

I've sent a number of emails to Craig over the last year or so and everyone of them has been ignored, make of that what you will.

Instead of e-mailing, try calling Dandy HQ. If you ring someone, there's more of a chance they will reply.

Have you thought of pitching to The Phoenix? Would love to see you in there - maybe a bring-back of that Lemming. ;)

John and I pitched a couple of ideas to the Phoenix before it first came out.

The two ideas that we pitched were for one page strips and each pitc included a fully finished strip

Before pitching we were told they would get back to us within six weeks with a yes or no...we are still waiting.

It's not the fact that they didn't like what we sent them that bothers me. It is that editors (whom I know from working on the DFC) didn't have the courtesy to reply to our submission that really annoys me.

Steve Beckett, Lew Stringer and Andy Fanton, all popular and famous comic artists pitched to The Phoenix at the same time as well - yet they have heard no news. They keep claiming that "They're too busy."

Alexander Matthews and Wilbur Dawbarn pitched a story called Useleus not too far back and got accepted. It is totally unacceptable to ignore some pitches. I'd get in touch with them if I were you. Maybe call them rather than e-mail - at least then you will get a reply.
