Citipati osmolskae

#1 of 7 in a series of pen and colored pencil drawings I did in the summer of 2001 when I was all excited about Jurassic Park III. Oh, if I had only known what I was in for. I may or may not have used skeletals, I honestly can't remember. Probably not, though.

I gave this guy ostrich-like plumage because I saw someone else do it and I thought it looked appropriate. He's an ugly bastard. It was intended to be an Oviraptor, but the specimen I based the head on has been reassigned since then to Citipati, so I guess that retroactively makes it one.

The shadow is ridiculous. Oh, fourteen-year-old-me, what were you thinking?
