EDIT 2: I'm all set. I just downloaded No Icon Shadows for iOS 4.2.1 and it's perfect. Sorry for the headache!!

Looks gorgeous from what I see above. Now if I can just figure out how to use it.. (JB iPhone 4 + iOS 4.2.1 + noob = me)

Download it, unpack it and read the instructions inside - that should work. ;)

Thanks for the info. I've done that all of that already, but I'm still having trouble getting the docked icons to display. It just shows the regular default ones. Trial and error is my best friend =p

Calm down! Specific infos about your problem could have worked at the first time.
First of all enable "SummerBoard Mode" in the Winterboard settings. Copy the needed Dock-icons (Phone, Mail, Messages, etc.) to the folder named icons. Make sure you copied the icons "...@2x.png" too (needed 'cause you are iPhone 4).
A couple of days ago my 3GS brokes completly down and I have to recover it and jailbreak it again. After this I installed my theme and noticed that the Phone and Mail icon were not about work die. After the 3rd theme installation and the 5th or 6th respring it magically worked.
Until now I didn't figured out the problem. So I'm sorry, but keep on trying.

Cheers.

Haha I'm calm don’t worry.. I've got it all set up, just two minor issues.

Problem 1: I don’t use the default messaging app, I use bitesms. So I replaced the bitesms icon with the 'messages' icon you made, I copied both the icon and the '@2x.png', replacing the default bitesms icon. The problem is that it's just a pixel or two smaller than the rest of the dock icons.

Problem 2 is simple but I can't figure it out. I still have the rectangular shadow behind the docked icons.

I can take a screenshot and show you if you'd like.

EDIT: Ok, I got the icon sizing fixed.

Any idea about the squared docked icon shadows?

I made new Dock icons but not sure on how to implement them, do I have to name them a certain way for them to show?
cypher7's avatar
Yes you have. And you must overwrite the existing ones (or rename the old ones to *.old).

Hi again :)

So i resolved Almost everything :) Thank you.
I did some modification like you said. And everything is ok.
It still is a problem with the Phone application. The design isn't appear. Do you know about this problem? I mean :
When i launch the Phone application inside the design remain classic not yours.
jakefairley's avatar
ahhh it isn't that why i don't have maybeee .... lol
So next step of this magnificent Theme.. to add a design inside the phone app!! :)
Apart that only the Ipod icone isnt ok after everything perfect :)

Hi Cypher,
You Theme is Awersome, thank you for that.

however i get some problems with it :

1, Lock screen not appear, is still the basic one. Only the slide bar changed.
2, Icons compass, weather didnt changed too.
3, Phone application didnt changed too it's still the basic one
Could you help me please ?

Hi jakefairley,

first of all thank you.

Here we go for the solutions:
1. Yes, this right. So many people ask me to don't restrict the lockscreen because they want to use own Lockscreen WPs. Just upload the LockBackground.png or LockBackground@2x.png via iTunes to your iDevice and choose in the wallpaper section of the settings.
2. Yes, I know this and it's still a problem. You can change the name of the Camera-Icon to "icon.png" to "Icon.png". Change the first letter to uppercase for *.png in "Bundles/com.apple.camera". I did the same and after the 6th or 7th respring it worked. Strange thing. Try the same with the Maps-icon: from "icon@2x.png" to "icon@2x~iphone.png" (just add '~iphone'). I don't know what's wrong with the weather-icon. First time someone have problems with that.
3. I guess that depends on your phone language. Is your iDevice set to english? Where you from? Or try this: set "SummerBoard Mode" to enabled in "WinterBoard" and copy your dock-icons to "inSET HD/icons/". This should work.

I hope this will help you.

I'm using the 4-icon dock version and it looks wonderful. I am having a few problems though.

1. Some of my apps are more dim than others. Winterboard is one of them.
2. The folders also aren't changed like the one in the screenshot. They still have the default look to them.

Despite these, this theme is the only one I have ever decided to keep for good.
iSkwerl's avatar
I fixed the folder icon background by SSHing into my device. I found the FolderIconBG file and saw that it had ~iphone attached after, so I deleted that and it works. I still don't know why some icons are more dim than others however.
cypher7's avatar
The thing with the folder icon sounds very strange. Problem is that I can't reproduce this. On my 3GS everything works fine and I didn't have a jailbreaked iphone 4 for testing the theme.
Solution to fix the dim problem is that you rename/delete the "AppIconOverlay.png" and "AppIconOverlay@2x.png" in "Bundles/com.apple.mobileicons.framework/". I made this file to get an inner shadow to the icons but some icons didn't ever used the overlay only some of them.

Thanks for testing and your bug report.
iSkwerl's avatar
Would I be able to give every application the overlay if I went into the application folder and pasted the AppIconOverlay.png? If so, where would I find this? I really like the shade and would like to apply it to all apps if possible.
cypher7's avatar
Hmm, the allover overlay graphic is located in "Bundles/com.apple.mobileicons.framework/". I don't know if your idea will work and I'm afraid it doesn't.
Let me research a solution this problem.
