Firstly:   Gather plenty of references.

I made my design based on both the Ruby-Spears Megaman cartoon and the official artwork from the Megaman 3 Nintendo game. Plan out each and every little detail you want to incorporate and make a lot of notes and sketches to refer to as you work.

Nextly:   Gather your supplies.
This section may look intimidating or overly complicated, but if you take your time and keep your workspace organized, you should find that it is a lot simpler than it seems. These are the exact things that I used, whether due to time and budget constraints, local availability, or simply my personal preference. You may use whatever substitutions you choose.

Aside from the pictured items, you will-or-may also need a sketch pad or note paper, a ball-point pen and Sharpie marker, a pair of needlenose pliers, sharp scissors, an X-acto knife, a ruler or T-square, a hot glue gun, an electric carving knife, disposable gloves, newspaper, and an appropriately ventilated workspace. A disposable breathing mask and a pair of safety goggles are also recommended to protect yourself from the harmful vapors of the sprays. Read all product labels carefully; most sprays are extremely flammable and carcinogenic.

I do ALL of my spraying outdoors to protect myself, my animals, and my bedroom workspace.
