"Reinforce the doors! Block them up! Don't let that thing get out!"
Dr. David Holmqvist grabbed a handkerchief out of his lab coat pocket with a shaking hand and wiped the sweat off of his bald head as guards in full military riot gear charged past him with guns the size of a man's leg in hand. The hallway they were in was dark; that thing had gotten into the power grid somehow. The only light to go by were the rotating red alarm lights mounted on the walls, bathing everything in a swirling red light.
From the opposite end of the hall, several of the troops had discarded their bulky weapons and had grabbed an industrial freezer from the kitchen, pushing it down the hall with all their strength.
