Well, I wasn't going to put anything else up for Pride Month, but then long time Internet fam member, certified squid and sister in asexuality Sumi-Sprite put a Pride meme up and I found myself unable to resist.

And before I go any further, I'll state for the record that if anyone reading this needs to talk about their LGBTQA+ issues, whatever they may be, both myself and Sumi are perfectly willing to talk about them.

1. What’s your gender?

2. What are your pronouns?

3. Is your family accepting?
I mean... yeah? The parents didn't raise a particular stink, but they didn't seem to entirely get it either. The sister accepts, if nothing else.

4. What do you wish you could tell your past self?
"Buddy, you are going to go through some shit, but there is a light at the end of this tunnel. Also you need to brush up on coding some more, trust me on this."

5. What is your sexuality?
I"m a demisexual, which means I'm attracted based on an emotional connection to a given potential partner, but I'm also attracted based on... hm, I guess the best word is aesthetic? How one looks, but I don't discriminate body types, if that makes sense. For example, I once beheld a woman decked out in a black jacket and pants and white shirt with close-cut, dyed red hair and my first coherent thought was "HOT DAMN!"

6. Favorite color?
Any shade of teal, but particularly that unique shade that features on Rosalina's dress.

7. Sun gay or moon gay?
Uh, not sure what this means, but likely Moon Gay.

8. When did you find out your sexuality?
Only about two years ago, when Pinterest introduced me to the concept of asexuality.

9. How was your day?
Sort of neutral, really. A bit cold, but this is an Australian June.

10. Do you have any gay friends?
Uh... I have a couple of ace friends? On the Internet? I don't know about anyone else, honestly...

11. What’s your favorite hobby?
It's a toss-up between writing and gaming, honestly.

12. Who’s the best gay icon in your opinion?
Insert typical ace response here: *Shrug*

13. which pride flags do you like the most design/color wise?
I kinda like them all. They each represent their respective prides quite accurately in my opinion.

14. are you openly out?
I mean, you can't be open about something that doesn't come up a lot. When it does come up, like now, I mention it if I feel like it, which I do in this instance. I'm with Sumi on this one; my orientation and the prerogative to share it is my business.

15. Are you comfortable with yourself?
Oh, yeah. I know who I am, and for the most part I like that person.

16. Bottom or top?
Neither of the two.

17. Femme or butch?
I... don't think I can answer this, because the previous answers have rendered this moot.

18. Do you bind?
That'd be a no. I have, however, read some fairly negative things about it.

19. Do you shave?
Yep. Beards itch like you wouldn't believe after two weeks.

20. If you could date anyone you wanted, who would it be?
I'd only date someone after I get to know them and like them enough to progress to that point.

21. Do you have a partner (s)?
I don't.

22. Describe your partner (s)?
See previous question

23. Have you ever dated anyone of the same sex?
I mean, I'm not exactly closed off to the prospect, but I never really connected with any of the guys I knew. Never considered them friends, much less boyfriend material. I might be open to the prospect if I can connect with a  guy and not get emotionally blue-balled by the pack instincts. As of yet, this has not happened.

24. Anyone of another sex?
Once, yeah.

25. Pastel gay or goth gay?
Totally Goth Gay.

26. Favorite dad in dream daddies?
Haven't played that.

27. Tell me a random fact about yourself?
Random Fact: I was attracted to NiGHTS before I knew what attraction was.

28. Do you own any pride flags/merch?
I don't but I want to. Like a shirt, or something.

29. Have you ever been to a pride parade?
No, I haven't. I was planning to go to a couple of years ago, maybe find a purple grey and black flag to tape to my wrists or tie round my neck like a cape, but it turned out getting to it required booking a flight, which is one of the few things I'm not ready to do without close parental guidance.

30. Any advice to someone who isn’t out or who is exploring themselves?
My principal advice would be this: Take your time. I'm still exploring the exact dimensions of my own orientation, finding out where the all the hidden rooms are and what button combination is required to access the Dragon Transformation Potion stockpile and whatnot, and everyone learns about this sort of thing at different speeds. Work on finding people who accept you for who or what you are; that's what lets you find out where you stand in relation to the world around you. And if you don't like it, change it. I'm not saying it's simple, or even easy, but you will find people who will support you, and you will find happiness with those people. And remember there is always a community at your back, one who has dealt with this shit before and will again, and will help you if you need it.

I'm usually content to let people continue these things if they want, but I am going to raise a shout-out to Miku-Nyan02 , fellow ace and one of the major people that helped me on the path to figuring this whole thing out.

On the subject of Soul Remnant, the third chapter is going well. I've got a big fight scene lined up on a city street and all, but I just don't know how to lead into it is the problem. Once that's out of the way, the rest will flow as water, I assure you.

Second thing! A friend of the family has decided to sell her business, and my parents are of the opinion that me and the little bro are the guys to take over. Magic Mushies is under new management, baby! We'll be learning the ropes and circuiting the markets over the next month or two. Kinda cuts across the grand goal of moving back across the state border, but we'll see how it goes.

Third thing! I'll be starting up a university course on March to contend for the right to continue with my previously stated grand goal. Time's only gonna tell how well that'll go, but I'm playing this game and I'm playing to win.

For all the magically-interested peeps out there, I've decided to link a few witchcraft pins with tips, methods, and other helpful things. Now, before we go forward with this, I just would like to point out that I am not an expert on this. There are several reasons I don't actively practice this kind of thing, not least of which is because my apartment building has a policy of not lighting fires indoors and a rather prolonged fire evacuations system. That being said, if you want to try any of this stuff out, I strongly encourage you to go for it. Who knows, you might just learn a thing or two. If you want to know more about any of the topics I cover, this information is readily available on the internet. Here we go!

The first step for getting into this, much like most things in life, is belief. Here's a list of seven beliefs that are a major help for witchery, and life in general.…

So, now that you're into this whole magic thing, you'll need to know how it works before you can do things with them. Witchcraft has a hundred different rituals and methods for doing all kinds of things, but there are common associations and symbols involved in every facet of the process. The best place for the beginning witch to start is with your four basic elements - Fire, Water, Earth and Air. Get used to seeing these, because they're going to crop up a lot.…………

You'll notice every element has a set of three star signs attached to it. My personal view is that this is more to help define the practitioner and indicate affinity than anything else, but if you want to get into the deeper meanings of it all, be my guest. If you're a Gemini like me, you might find that you have a thing for Air energy, or you may not. That's your call. No one's gonna judge you. Well, no one that matters anyway.

Once you're familiar with the elements and their natures, you'll need to find ways to represent them in your space. This handy-dandy guide has some examples of common items you can use to represent each element:…

Alright, you've got your elements sorted and your space arranged. Let's make some magic!

But hold up there for a second. Witches practice magic in all sorts of ways, so how do you know which one will best fit you? While it's up to the practitioner to conduct their rituals and spells the way they see fit, there are certain categories that specialise in different applications of magic, like these ones:…

But for the beginning witch, you can't go wrong with tarot, candles and crystals.

Tarot magic is one of the better known divination methods, mostly because each card has clear meanings and purposes in a reading. Some basic meanings of each card are listed here:…
Ideally, you want to find a tarot deck that you feel comfortable using. If the cards won't work with you, then you're not going to get a lot of useful information from them. And since information is the name of the game with tarot, it's important to know what you want to ask beforehand. Here's some effective questions to ask your deck:…
There are several different reading methods you can utilise with a tarot deck, but the one that strikes the best balance between brevity and meaning is the three card draw. Y'know that bit in the Princess and The Frog where Faciller does his tarot spiel? That's the basic idea; "The cards, the cards, the cards will tell/ the past, the present and the future as well." An alternative method that I personally use is that all three cards be read together to identify the future for the subject of the reading. It is then the responsibility of the subject to act on that reading whether to change or reinforce the future thus divined.

TL;DR, learn the cards, draw three of them, tell the future, profit! Potentially, anyway.

Now, candle magic. This is used in a variety of different ways, from warding to energy focusing and even cleansing aids. As with everything in magic, symbolism is key. Different coloured candles have different meanings, listed here for your convenience:…

The most effective way to use candles is to burn them with intent. Light a candle with an idea, a purpose, a spell, whatever it is, make sure it's fixed in your think-box when the thing flares up. Just make sure that you don't leave them unattended or close to flammable objects. And be sure to pay attention to that flame, it's like a little signpost that tells you if your spell is succeeding or not. List of omens here:…

On to my personal favourite, crystal magic! This branch of the art is mostly known as part of the so-called "New Age Religion" movement, but crystals make for a strong magical foundation in general, not least because a lot of them are tied to the Earth element. These things are vital for tons of magical processes, and all witches should have at least a chunk of clear quartz on hand, as it's a naturally balanced crystal that can help you out whatever the weather. Once again, every crystal has ten different meanings and things it can help with, and it's up to you to determine what you want to do with them. Bear in mind that it is important to cleanse your crystals regularly, or they won't be nearly as effective. Think of them as batteries for natural magical energy that you draw on when you do your magic. Cleansing these babies is as simple as holding them under running water (A tap will do if you don't have a convenient stream or river nearby) and letting Mother Nature do the rest. A more detailed guide on the cleansing and charging process can be found here:…

Another form of magic that I know all you arty people are gonna get behind is sigils. Sigils are customised symbols drawn onto things to channel energy and intent in certain ways around that through that object. Here's a couple of guides on how to form and draw sigils, as well as an explanation on why you might want to draw them.………

Having a method to your spells is all well and good, but for the more complicated rituals and processes you'll need the right tools. Now, you might not be able to afford or maintain a big, elaborate setup, or you might just be uncomfortable wiht the idea of a table with candles and herbs where your parents can see it. This is okay. I've said it before and I'll keep saying it: Every witch is different. Your methods are your own. But there are some basic things that you'll need if you wanna get started.

Here's a detailed list of equipment and…
A list for those of you who live in more urbanised environments:…
A stripped down list of essentials:…
The 8 basic tools of the witch:…

Now, for those of you so inclined and have had this thought in the front of your mind for most of this list: Yes. Magic wands are a thing in real life. But! You can't just grab any old stick and start channeling right away. It's like old man Olivander told us all those years ago: The wand chooses the witch. Look for something that calls out to you, a certain shape or type of wood. Look in places you don't normally go. And remember to leave a gift, like a crystal or amulet you don't need anymore. You're taking something from nature, so you have to give something back.
Full wand making guide here:…

Alright, we've got our tools, made a wand and gotten the Harry Potter impressions out of our system, now it's time for some rituals!

First things first: for any spell or ritual you'll need to know the five casting essentials:
Prep your materials and spell area before you do anything else. I know we covered this before, but you really want things to go right when you're communing with the elements and the spirits and the gods and the goddesses and whatnot.
Linking intent: This is important because you want to state very clearly what you are going to do. Saying your intent out loud helps, even if it isn't part of the ritual.
Creating channels: Where do you want the energy to go? What do you want it to do? If you don't do anything it just sits there and stagnates and that's not fun for anyone involved.
Raise and direct energy: Once you have the channel, then you need to push the energy down that channel. Work those spirit-arms!
State of mind: You gotta keep an open mind about these things, or you'll just close yourself off from the possibilities. On top of that, you also need to be clam, or the energy might not go exactly where you want it.

You'll also need to know how to create and cleanse spaces for doing your witchy thing.
A guide to circles:…
A guide to warding:…

As important as it is to know how to ward and circle, it's also essential to know what to do if something goes wrong.
This is what to do if your witchcraft get weird:…
I'm not saying your life will be in danger or anything, but you'll be dealing with some weird stuff, so it's important to know how to handle it.

A good first step for  ritual is one that balances your emotions, like this one:…

So, with that said, on to the more metaphysical end of the spectrum: psychic abilities.
Witchcraft is by no means limited to the physical world. Should you so choose, you can tap into the astral plane to manifest abilities outside ordinary perception. A partial listing of these abilities can be found here:…

The thing with these powers is that you won't pick them up right away. They need to be developed and nurtured with practice and patience. So if you start getting a feeling that doesn't quite feel earthly, I advise you keep at it and see what develops.

Now, I'm not saying I condone this, but you can use certain rituals and spells to hurt others instead of heal. I speak, naturally, of curses and hexes. I won't put any links to things that you can use for curses, or actual curses to cast at someone; you do that on your own time. When you cast these, you're opening yourself up to harmful energies that could affect you just as badly or worse than the person you're trying to bring it down on. Make sure that you research ways to care for yourself spiritually and physically, and use them every time you cast one of these things.

Right. That's enough of that.

I'll wrap this up with some general witchy tips and tricks.

Most witches have a Book of Shadows or Grimoire, which is basically your spell book. Here's some advice for what to put in it:…

I didn't cover this in the main section because I'm not that crazy about them, but herbs are your friends. Use them, know them love them. Some partial listings of herbs and properties here and here:……

Have at least one jar of rainwater for your cleansing rituals. If you live in the city, my recommendation would be to mix in some purifying herbs first unless you're the type of which who wants their spaces blessed by acid rain.

You'll likely have some weird-ass dreams as you get into magic. Here's a reference guide for some of the symbols you
might see:…

Don't be afraid to mix magics! You want Viking Runestones? Buy 'em or make 'em, whatever's clever. You want your spells in a transmutation circle? Go for it. Just make sure to do your research and take careful notes.

Enchant amulets for protection and good fortune. Draw sigils on your phone case, do a ritual on your favourite necklace or watch, use what you got!

Don't be afraid of your craft. This is a big one. If you don't feel comfortable as a witch, don't practice witchcraft. I'm not pressuring you, no one is pressuring you. And don't be afraid to ask for help, either.

And for those of you who might be having doubts about this whole witchcraft thing, I advise you read these……

Thank you for reading, and good night!

I'm a cynic.

I do believe in the individual, but I can't say the same for the crowd.

My biggest and best interactions are from behind a screen.

I look at the world, and I see a hundred potential stories around every corner.

I try my best to look for magic in the everyday, but I can never find it.

I look and look as hard as I can.

I brush up on my crystal meanings, I pore over alchemy circles, I search up wicca and witchery and spells and fantasy prompts.

But the bitter fact of the matter is thus:

No matter how hard you try, you can't find something that isn't real.

And that kills me a little.

Because all I've ever wanted is to find a way to make my stories come to life.

And I did.

I am now officially a Brisbane resident.

Got my stuff moved in today, gonna go shopping for more tomorrow.

Next week is Orientation, and after that, college starts.

It's all happening.
I imagine that writing a story, much like any form of creative expression, is a little like playing God. Our thoughts and imaginings are spun into a world of our making, populated with people who may have once existed, who are yet to exist, or do not exist at all.

We give these people thoughts, hopes, strengths, weaknesses, dreams, nightmares. We send them on quests, be they physical, emotional or mental, and bring them out the other side changed, for better or worse.

But what happens when the story is incomplete? If we, all of a sudden, lose inspiration, motivation to continue?

What happens when the story is mere pieces, rough drafts of disjointed scenes and viewpoints?

What happens to the characters, to the world we have brought into being?
Hello, 5 people that are actually interested in what I do!

First off, mea maxima culpa for not posting anything, but when you're in a family business like I am, the Christmas rush is a bitch. Secondly, for those of you who haven't been following my statuses, I'm shipping up to Brisbane in a month, a week and a bit to enter into a Bachelors in Game Development. The downside of which being I won't have much time to write, but the upside being I will instead be posting on what I hope will become a budding professional deviant art page under the name Rowan The Architect! I'll put the actual link up once I have something to post.

Now! This does not mean I will not be posting anything here anymore! It simply means I'll be putting more time into being professional rather than casual. That being said, I'll still be causal here, I just need a professional presence to attract future employers!

2018 is gonna be hard as hell, but damn if it won't be awesome.
I've been doing some TVtropes surfing over the weekend, in between the sleep deprivation of very early mornings in a different state, and I've decided I'll be reviving an old fanverse idea set in the Kingdom Hearts universe. It's a set of three stories, revolving around the worlds of HTTYD, Storm Hawks and Slugterra, each focusing on an OC's interactions with the respective heroic groups of these worlds. What will hopefully make it interesting is that each OC is a Keyblader with ties to the Darkness in some way, shape or form. I know that sounds cliche, but I've put a fair amount of work into it. I'll post the first chapter of each one, see what the five people who pay attention think.
I mentioned back a couple of years ago that my sister had an account, samsonandflynn . She never uses it, so I'm pretty sure that I'm safe in writing this.

I see no need to apply any sugar to this: We hate each other. Not mere dislike, no simple sibling rivalry, I am talking down and out, passionate, unrelenting, ceaseless hatred on a scale normally used for calculating natural disasters, ever since the day I started talking well enough to argue with her. I think she's got so many sticks up her ass it's a wonder she can walk straight, which probably isn't true, she thinks I'm a lazy asshole who doesn't give a damn about anything, which definitely isn't true.

We don't get along, and probably never will.

And the sad part is I can never escape it. Like it or hate it, we're family.

Despite that though, I really do enjoy seeing her when she's happy. And I think she does care, deep down. She just doesn't know how to express it, I think.

If I'm being honest, neither do I.

3. Count the letters that you typed down, and tag the same number of people in your journal.

Buckle up, people. We could be here a while.

Caffeine - This is team CFVY's theme song! How could I not love it?
Bad Apple - I've been getting into Touhou a bit more lately, and this version of the song stands out for me:[link]
Elektrika - Unkown, but I like the dance that goes with this.
Rock'n'Roll - Daft Punk. From their Homework album. Daft Punk in general is great.
Ash like snow - Unknown, but it's the nightcore version I like:[link]
Native Faith - Jazz Remix:[link]
Geragerapo - King Cream Soda. Say what you will about Yokai Watch, but damn if that theme ain't bouncy!
Emotion - Daft Punk. A very slow progressing song, good for chilling or doing homework.
LUVORATORRRRRY! Specifically the version with 96neko, Reol and nqrse.
Robot Rock - Daft Punk. Another classic. Unlike most of Daft Punk's songs' this one contains an actual guitar!
Oh Yeah - MAOR Daft Punk!
WILDFIRE!! By Gumi! Best Gumi solo song!
Always Know Where You Are - This is from the Treasure Planet Film. Best song in that movie.
Nightmare Night - Wooden Toaster - A halloween song written by bronies, for bronies and anyone else that enjoys Wooden Toaster stuff.

GAH FINALLY! I will prevent this cancer from spreading by saying only those that want to do it can do it.

I don't typically have cereal for breakfast.
11. I am a Republican, and I voted for Ted Cruz, but I kind of like Bernie Sanders. Is that weird or bad?

No matter if you create art on paper or on a screen, no matter if you do it with text or through colour, there is a guiding force watching you and directing you throughout the process. When you experience a rush of creativity, you are given the opportunity to exist outside of yourself and become the channel for a higher power to bring feeling and life into physical form. It's the single most addictive drug in the world, and it's what we as artists live for.

Or at least, that's how I see it.

It's the Christmas season! That time when businesses go into overdrive, commercialism reaches it's peak, and we celebrate the birth of a child to a Muslim refugee couple! /SHOT

Anyway, for those who are interested, I'm poking at the next chapter of my Elites story. Just need to figure out a way to train Mato and the gang and make it believable, and I'm golden! XNFE's drones? A CRNT maybe? So many possibilities...

Anyway, I also got tagged by that cheeky little squiddy Sumi-Sprite, so now I gotta do the meme.

Have fun!

I've picked the Megaman fandom. Here we go...

Dad: Protoman.EXE. There is so much wrong with this on so many levels.

Sibling: Geo Stelar. Nice!

Grandpa: Alia. Or should that be Grandma? Either way, having a navigator relative is useful!

Haunts You: Layer. So she haunts me with her shyness?

Significant other: Cut Man. Again, so much wrong, so many levels.

Ex: Axl. Dammit, I'm not gay! Probably why I broke up with Axl, come to think of it.

Best friend: X. HELL YEAH!

Proposed to you: Roll. Uh, if you were remodelled to be, like, older than six, I might...

Boss: Mega Man. Alrighty then.

The Random Person you met at the bar: Zero. Nice! Wait, can Reploids get drunk?

Rival: Cinnamon. Our Hearthstone battles will be LEGENDARY!

Gave you your first kiss: Lan. NOPE. [link]

Drunk and singing Karaoke with: Omega X-is. WOOOOO!

Played 7 minutes in heaven with: Roll.EXE. HOW WOULD THIS WORK?!

Gave you your favourite dessert: Fairy Leviathan. Thanks for the Maxibon Levi, I've had a weird day...

Well, I'm officially never doing that again. But these people are!
