This is a massive project, I worked on for the last years.
I tried to gather as many sources as possible and show how they are referenced in Ocarina of time.
Have fun with reading.
Credits to StrandedGeek (www.deviantart.com/strandedgee…) for proofreading. A ton of spelling mistakes have been caught and corrected.

I love the amount of time & effort you've placed in your research regarding the references in this game; this information is indeed quite intriguing indeed and tells a lot on how well some devs are at creating original work based on research they have on real-life things. I really love deep creativity like that.
Really good work but quite a few spelling errors I noticed. Which is okay, spelling and grammar is a nightmare for me. I double check & triple check, I think everything's fine & good. I post it up no trouble right? I then go back and read it yet again....and I STILL find mistakes. So many that it's embarrassing. XD
Miyamoto immersed himself heavily in Western cultures, which is what gives his games that unique quirkiness. Even many of the weird and quirky elements of Mario come from a juxtaposition of Japanese folklore and European works like Alice in Wonderland. Not surprising to find so many references in a big game like Ocarina of Time when you dig deep enough!
Yeah this game is a wonderful example of how something can be turned in a work of fantasy.
I think for artists and designers it's very important to know many different sources in order to create something much stronger.
