Chapter 2: Family Over Quests
Dawn was breaking over the Owl House, with the early-morning wind blowing through the woods surrounding it. There was a moment of silence before Hunter ran along the trails, dressed in a dark blue T-shirt, black running pants, and white sneakers.
He dashed forward, leaped off a rock to grab a tree branch, then swung himself up to crouch on top of it. He then leaped through the trees until he reached the clearing where the Owl House sat. He dropped off the branch, somersaulted through the air, and landed on the ground, rolling before springing to his feet. He stood, shook out his shoulders, and walked to the front door.
“Good morning, Hunter!” Hooty greeted him.
“Morning, Hooty,” Hunter replied as he went inside.
In the kitchen, he found Raine already dressed and preparing breakfast for everyone. “Hey, Ren,” Hunter called, getting their attention.
“Morning, Hunter.” Raine smiled at him. “Breakfast will be ready in a minute.”
