MAJOR CHANGE IN PLANS</u>
There is a slight - teeny - tiny - impossibly small - chance that I might be going to the Labyrinth of Jareth Ball.

...

.............. OH GODS. I think I'm going to explode.

I had plans for this month I was quite excited about that got canceled, but even the possibility that this might happen might almost make up for that. Sorry to spam everyone, but I had to tell somebody, and it's frustrating when you tell someone who has no idea what it means.

(OH PLEASE ohpleaseohpleaseohpleaseohplease...)

We will now resume our original message.
Well, I'm back to work and back to health. I've not yet been as productive as I'd like, but I'm ramping up to it. And I'm at last catching up on the comment/ favorite backlog I had run up during finals - I told you guys I'd respond eventually ^-^

I'm still salivating about the potential project for Halloween, but before then I'd probably best finish some of the pieces I have currently in the works. I really ought to get around to completing designs on certain galleries - I have absolutely nothing in fire or air, and very little in water, although for the latter I've come up with a few interesting ideas.

This'd be an ideal time to commission me, if anyone's interested - I've got a fair bit of time on my hands, although I'll be traveling a bit this month. Need anything for midsummer? Contact me ASAP. And remember, I'm happy to talk to you if you don't know what you'd want, or if you want me to create a design sketch or discuss a theme. Or if you just want a good recipe for venison stir-fry.

Oh, and, holy crap, the profile editor's being annoying. I wend back to update - for example, I needed to add Twilight Princess (cue chorals) to my favorite games - but it's now cutting off my entries, and many of them didn't change. And the character cutoff limit isn't uniform. Wtf, mate?

Soon to come:
- Ivy Circlet (finally finished, awaiting photography)
- Wood Fae (really - it's progressing... slowly.)

About the Masks:
Generally speaking, the masks are painted formed leather, usually in a single layer. They're hand-sculpted with no mold, and occasionally surface carving or tooling is employed. They are lined in suede and unvarnished on the inner face to preserve the natural breathing quality of the leather for comfort. The outer face is painted and water-resistant. By virtue of the quality of materials, they tend to be reasonably durable, gently flexible, and very lightweight.

Commission Information:
If you like any of the masks in my gallery or would like a custom mask, please feel free to ask. All sales are by commission - very rarely do I have extra masks laying around for sale, because if they aren't created with an owner in mind I tend to get too attached, and because I have precious little spare time. (The good news is it means more versatility in what you can request.) My availability for commission varies tremendously because I have a full-time life entirely outside of artwork - 80% of the year I am cramming any art I do into a 27-hour-a-day schedule. However, I am open for inquiry at any time. If you are a dA member, you can write me a note; otherwise, you can contact me through my website, whatever you feel comfortable with.

Hope you're enjoying fragile things :D

I hope you get to go and can do all sorts of fun costume stuff to add on to your beautiful masks! (Needless to say, if you do go LOTS OF PICTURES!)

So do I!! ..Kind of! I'm terrified. I have costumes, but nothing I'd want to wear to this. I have masks, but... ditto. I have a month, though, of a blissful lack of obligations, so maybe I can do this.
Naturally if I do go I'll be so verbose on the subject I'll have to make myself write up a lengthy report, sparing no detail, before I allow myself to get back into the community, so that I don't spam everyone with my enthusiasm then, too. There might not be too many pictures, though, I tend to get carried away with experience and forget documentation... though if I can wheedle, plead, coerce, blackmail or abduct my boyfriend in order to get him there that may not be an issue....

Thank you thank you thank you! (I'm scared out of my wits, or excited into a temporary insanity, or both, right now..)

I want to see your mask! I'm sure it'll be gorgeous, you have tremendous design sense. And getting it to fit's just a matter of exhausting yourself, no big deal... ^-^ We'll have to converge somewhere at some point and hold a midwinter masquerade... maybe I'll turn that into a challenge, or something...?

Cool! Good luck ^-^ Post your results, too.
I'm thinking of tooling some leaf-and-spiderweb design into a piece as a test, soon, I'll post that, too, should it work...

I really wanna go!! It may not happen. It's really short notice. I've been digging through all my sketchbooks for costume and mask ideas. I'm only hoping I can convince my boyfriend he wants to join me. But I really, really wanna go......
Thanks a lot!! (And sorry about the babbling/ spam - it's such a relief talking to someone who KNOWS what this IS for a change, and why it's a big deal...)

I'm not usually very good about taking photos, although I'll be carrying a disposable and get digital prints. What I WILL do is write up an elaborate journal on what happened, and crosspost it between my blogs and(/or at least link to the writeup posted) on my website along with a couple pages about making my costume.

If my boyfriend comes, which, truth be told, is kind of a factor in deciding whether I go (unfamiliar city, lots of money involved... mind you, this is the (so-called... ^-^ ) decision to go, after I find out whether I have a real opportunity) then there will probably be a ton of photos involved. But convincing him will be the issue. (He's on dA, I ought to direct a horde of friends to convince him for me...)

Cool ^-^ Stick 'em in Scraps, is easiest, or email me if you want it private. I'll probably sketch what the mask itself would look like and send that back to yeh. Then, it's up to you whether you'd rather wait and have me fit it to your face in person or just go ahead and finish it (and see about tweaking it later if necessary.)
How're you? Before getting your teeth out, remember to stock up on pudding and ice cream and sherbet and sorbet - variety will make you hate life less - and actually, for a couple days after the surgery when it begins to heal and it's okay for you to suck gently (and if you're like me, by this point you'll be willing to eat straight salt just so you can have something other than sweet food): the new natural cheetos puffs are very edible at that stage, not to mention quite tasty. (I had this done last summer... compared to when I had mono, which was only the month before, it was much better, but I've had a lot of dental surgery and I-freaking-hate-not-eating-salt.)

Are you taking classes over the summer? Because i'm heading back up there to get my braces put on after my wisdom teeth come out. It will probably be better to wait, I guess, since I have a weird face. XD
I'm more of a salt person, too. I will definately be stocking up on soups! Thanks for the reccomendations!

Nah, I can't really afford to take summer classes there, but I might drop in over the summer to visit friends, and if nothing else I'll certainly come back (barring catastrophe) in August. What can happen before that is I can design the template and maybe make a prototype if it seems tricky, so we can be sure the effect is right.
Soups are great, but you can't really eat warm food for a couple days because it makes the clots loosen. Just eat a ton of salty snacks a couple days before, wear yourself out on it, and prepare for a lotta ice cream... Good luck, the incapacitation doesn't last too long, especially if you're distracted.
