Speckle-Headed Whip Snake

Ahaetulla fasciolata.

With its extremely slender body and uniquely shaped pupils, the Speckle-Headed Whip Snake, or Spotted Whip Snake, is a typical member of the Ahaetulla genus and can be found in southern Thailand.

It can be easily distinguished from the other three Ahaetulla species that appear in Thailand, as the Speckle-Headed Whip Snake is the only one to have the eponymous speckles on top of its head which the other species all lack. This snake is rear-fanged, yet considered harmless to humans and feeds on lizards and skinks; in captivity, some individuals are reported to even accept fish, although snakes from the Ahaetulla genus are rather hard to maintain.

Although they're extremely slender and display very accurate strikes thanks to their (very probable) excellent binocular vision, they're generally rather slow-moving snakes.
