Enter our empty bodies, sun,
Move our aching muscles
And assemble our divided thoughts.

- dawn chorus of the red ants (Empire Of The Ants, Bernard Werber)

Photo from 2016, shot in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
I don't know the species of ant, unfortunately, but i named this one Anthony.

If I remember correctly, the ants in that film communicated with the humans via mathematics.  Scary thought that...  Fear

Anthony... well, ok :XD:

As for the pose itself, funny that it reminds me to a praying mantis. (which suddenly makes me wonder; do baby mantises eat ants?)

("Nicht schlimm, Vögelchen. Sesh färbt ab. Sesh färbt ab." 8'D)

Jaaa!

Ja. Anthony.
Tony. (...fuck.)

*leise wein*

Possibly an Asian Fire Ant. It is probably a good thing you didn't attempt to shake hands with her.

Great photography and I love the quote. I may have to add this novel to my read pile; I love the dual perspectives. I read the 1905 H.G. Wells short story by the same title many years ago; the 1977 motion picture made from it doesn't hold up very well.

Thank you! Yeah, Fire Ant was my first suggestion. Though, after some quick research, it may be a Weaver Ant (Oecophylla smaragdina. Although, i'm way better in identifying snakes, so i probably shouldn't talk. :'))

Bernard Werber's Empire Of The Ants in fact is one of may favourite novels altogether. It's been years since i've read it the last time, though (which i should change).

Skia and i once found this movie years ago by chance and randomly took it with us to check it out. So much surreal LSD-imagery in there, we just loved it. :iconantplz:
