Description

งูปล้องฉนวนทุ่งสง.
Lycodon butleri.

Butler's Wolf Snake, also called Mountain Wolf Snake, is a medium-sized, nonvenomous snake and quite a typical member of the Lyvodon genus. This serpent's basic colour is of a very dark brown to almost black, with a number of irregular white bands across the body (which, in juveniles are of a very high contrast while the bands tend to fade during adulthood). In Thailand, it is reported from the southern Krabi province.

The latin epithet name honours British zoologist Arthur Lennox Butler who curated the Selangor State Museum in Kuala Lumpur.

"A very dark brown to almost black", huh... :greetings:

And in this illustration it seems like green umber to me. One of my favourite colour pigments. :D

Love the mixture of green, yellow and very subtle dark violet, too.  Snake emoticon
