The Politics We All Enter Into :iconcuha:cuha 0 0
I could lay you down
and breathe your hands.
I could brush the dust
from your eyes.
And I could hold your moon in my palm;
A junkies palm,
the scarred hand of Judas.
But that would not make you h appe.
You wish to hold me
within your glass house gaze
and to touch my soul
where hands have never dared.
The game will not be played
by your rules,
once the pawn is a queen.
In your palm you held the ace of Spades
but it was a losing hand
to your filthy heart.
And the dealer delt away
Whilst the jokers laughed and joked.
And they held their stigmata out
for the babes to see.
But they only saw flesh.
With a needle dipped in ink
she wrote me a stigma in italics.
I can still see itl
In the moving daylight
In the roving daylight
In the shadows of light
on a palm.

Drag your Child-Dreams Across My Teeth
Drag your child dreams across my teeth
and hold your army at the gate.
A thousand pikemen 'neath the flag
Now reign within the court of sleep.
Their hands wrapped round oaken shaft
their mail a-glittered in the sun.
Shields all bared 'gainst mortal pain
To raze and conquer, one by one.
They hung the king and in his place
Poor Yorick sat with crown and mace.
And we vassal's question deep
The choices fools will make and keep.
O sky awash with blinking snow!
O land drowned in golden light!
No force will come and claim the day.
No end to this, O sleepless night.
Drag your child dreams across my teeth
and trace the Ande's over skin.
Release the Marquis from your eyes
to sovereign now my realms of dream.

It hurts me to think
of those restless nights
when I sat on your lap,
a pen in my heart;
a dove caught between my teeth.
I spilt ink upon  your night dress.
It shone silver with candlelight
and I was reminded of the mysteries
that spun starlight into constellations.
The very same
that spun starlight into constellations.
But then I remember;
the way you stroked my hair
and I remembered
the tobacco stains on your lips.
And it took the hurt away.

Lady Godiva Sat By The Window
Your tenderness spread from the flesh of bitter fruit;
it razed the ground it was born of.
It is the beating of a wardrum and the shadow of death.
And I found myself at the end of a rope
without the aid of drink or dope.
In my hand I held a note:
A confession without a sound
brought me to my knees.
When the day is too hot for coffee
you find the fog wont lift without it.
I am there, groping at the Thames
Without your hand there to guide me.
Her fingers carved a melody
Wrenching it free from the depths of pain,
and the bottom of white horse hooves
sank beneath the waves.
Whilst Lady Godiva sat by the window
and gazed out a heartfelt glance
at the children in the gutterand clothed her naked villainy
In silk and ermine fur.
And under the weeping tree we left each other letters
that cast aside the discarded uniforms of youth.

Stay A While
I layed her down by the river
In the tall grass and dandelions,
a whispered voice came to greet me
Stay a while
Stay a while.
We never knew our bodies
or where the tide would take us.
We never saw destruction
We just stayed a while
Stay a while
A while.
In the empty morning we looked around
all we saw were the branches.
They spoke to us in Esperanto
And they said 'stay a while
'Stay a while.
She wondered where the moon was
as I held it in my palm.
It's light glanced off a broken clock
and I wondered where the time ran off to.
She turned around and said to me
under the shading arms;"Will you stay a while?
Stay a while,
A while.
Stay a while."

Yesterday's Chest
I placed your silk
on my pockmarked breast
to cover the lid
of my yesterdays chest.
The way we adorn
horror with statistics
villains with crowns.
I wrapped your maddona
around my shore
the trails
of her veil
leaving scars
in the sand.
The boats have left
for invasion
and holocaust,
and I placed your silk
within my tomorrows chest;
and sunk it in her harbour.

The Deep Scarlet Night
Her passions wrote lyrics upon the parchment of her lips,
Under the gaze of the scarlet night.
I could not hold her there and we felt alone; though we were together.
Under the gaze of the scarlet night.
The rose is red and the glaze is soft upon the open eye.
The poet in the attic - surrounded himself with ghosts and dust coated lies-
spins perfumed words in the cold scarlet night. He comes to realise
the mystery of fate in the hour of late advance as he comes to recreate
the masterpiece of failure; oh too late.
A portrait was painted in blood and wine
by the hand of a sullen amateur
Then burnt in the fire of music
In the deep scarlet night.
Her passions wrote her confessions in the ink of truth
Upon the eyelids of beauty, as the cars speed past
to unseen glory, waited upon by cherubs in the
bright sun orange light.
Will you give in to the grazing dawn?
Will you hold me in angel glance at the end of this deep scarlet night?

Dawns Genocide
Dawn is locked in pastel reverie. A witness to the slow, fleeting genocide of stars as they are burned out one by one. The morning expands suddenly over the course of dawns gauntlet. The traffic and life of all men begins to trickle in time as the heavens die. The waltz of civilisation and Progress has entered its overture. Let us pray the dancers knows the steps. The jazz of night-time has left, only the instruments remain, frozen in morning dew.
Dawn licks up her pastels in a binge that leaves the day a clean blue plate. The scents of jasmine and wet asphalt greet this day; it is the stench of midnight mystery dying in the sun.
Poets have words for this condition; we have written about maladies for centuries.

Penning verse in heathenistic rhyme;
And casting tunes to hold back time.
  • Listening to: Sigur Ros - Glosoli
  • Reading: Illuminatus! Trilogy
  • Watching: nothing
  • Drinking: coffee
As most of you may have noticed, I haven't been online here for quite a long time. This is due in part to the fact that I have been working on the release of my album, as well as a few other projects.

Today, my album "Past the Sparrow Flight Hour", has finally become available for purchase on ReverbNation.

The music is an eclectic blend of dark acoustic sound-scapes and hauntingly beautiful poetry; a rich mix of the insane and the bohemian, a midnight tryst between an angel and a demon. I play all of the instruments on the tracks, mix, write and deliver the poetry.

The CD version comes with original art and photography included in its insert.

Head over to :… for a copy.

Available both on CD and MP3 download.
