Nova Rom spaceknight vs the Skrulls envelope art

I was doodling on an envelope this morning that I was getting ready to send to friend and it just kinda ended up as some pretty descent fan art that's basically paying homage to ROM #24. You can clearly see the areas I left open for the recipient's address and my return address.

ROM #24, that baby is an 80s classic. one of the first comics i ever had was a Marvel Two-In- One that featured Deathlok along with The Thing and Quasar. there used to be this pretty good pencil sketch on deviant art that featured Deathlok along with ROM and Morbius the living vampire but for some reason it's no where to be found now. thanks for swinging by.

that's funny that you say that cuz once in a while i get a nasty message from someone when i do that. but i'm certainly glad you're not one of em, i'll give you a heads whenever i do something again i think you might like.

well they had it coming the skrulls are pretty much the alien version of ISIS.
I recall that when Galactus had the Skrull homeworld for a nice midday snack, I was chortling with a fellow comics fan about how it couldn't have happened to a more deserving bunch.
yeah, although that didn't work out so well when the planet eater tried to take on Wraith World : ) that got me thinking what were probably the most vile hostile alien species in the Marvel Universe. off hand i'd have to go with the Brood with the Dire Wraiths be a close second.
Yeah, that place would give any planet-eater indigestion.
Good to see that Rom and Nova are still alive and well in our imaginative hearts and minds. I have had plans to do some Rom and Nova fan art. I will eventually get to finishing them before the year is over. Hopefully.
I've sent Disney some envelope art earlier this year regarding Nova(Richard Rider) as the only choice for a MCU(Marvel Cinematic Universe) Nova. I'm glad we got to see the pre-Nova Force Nova Corps in the GOTG(Guardians of the Galaxy film. Seeds are set for Nova Force and Worldmind. Now, we just need a Terran Nova Corps guy. Not the new kid who just put on his missing father's Black Nova helmet and then all of a sudden started calling himself "Nova". I still do not like the idea of the Black Nova's stealing power from the Nova Force. Speaking of which, the Nova Force had got to be around 616 in order for the Black Nova kid to continue being powered up. I know Richard Rider is still alive in 616 because he is no the embodiment of the Nova Force. Its the Xandarian Worldmind that we are still wondering about. Marvel just made a mess of things with the GOTG Original Sin Cancerverse tie-in story. I'm still upset that Marvel decided to obliterate Galador. I know there are off-world Spaceknights who survived the destruction of their homeworld.

yeah well if you look at my gallery you'll find no shortage of ROM/Nova cross over fan art. i'm old school Marvel so yeah Nova is Richard Rider end of story. didn't see GOTG the trailer looked stupid to me and i've never been much of a fan of the GOTG team at any point of their history even though i thought Starhawk is one of the coolest looking character designs. also, never cared for rocket raccoon character he's just too satirical for my taste he just doesn't fit in the mainstream marvel universe. marvel has made a continuity mess of all things ROM related continuity in the last 14 years it's no surprise they fucked up Nova as well. it's funny because in the recent New Warriors series sam alexander has a run in with some renegade spaceknights but the whole thing was just handled badly. fuck marvel they had IKON on Galador when it exploded but she's made appearances since then with no explanation given.

ROM looks a bit different there and I'm guessing the Nova here was the pre "Marvel NOW!" fellow?

I heard of Nova 619. It's a fan made comic series that centers on Richard Rider.
bingo. in fact they just released an e-comic Halloween special a couple of days ago. a couple months back they ran the script by me because the story was related to ROM spaceknight 24 (just like this envelope art) which is what prompted me to do the Nova vs the dire wraiths fan art. you can check out the pages of that Halloween special here it might make for a good read when you have some down time novaprime.deviantart.com/galle…
