Yep. My next turnaround is starting on the 5th. Literally the day before my birthday. And it's night shift, so I'll be 28 before I go home from that first shift. XD Third year in a row I will have worked on my birthday. It's all good. Getting that union money, which is like double what my starting pay used to be. In a single day I will have made like $360ish before taxes. And since I'm starting on a Friday, my first check will only be a few days worth (a typical work week is usually from Monday to Sunday) but at least I won't have to wait as long for that first check. And since it's union, even though it's only a few days of work, it should be a nice sum of money. Yay.
I'm having my party the week before my actual birthday. Probably won't have a lot of guests, since most of my friends either live out of town or are busy. It's fine though. My grandma will likely make my usual blue-velvet cake with the yummy frosting. ^^ Still any day (or night in this case lol) I'm making decent money is a good day. And I always enjoy when my co-workers wish me a happy birthday.
Yep. Already got my dispatch and my work gear. I even got myself a new backpack to put it all in. Looking forward to getting lots of hard-earned money and working my way to a place of my own. Definitely gonna try apartment-hunting in a few months. Gonna save up a lot between now and then. After I get a few turnarounds under my belt, I'll apply for a credit card, I already got one in mind that I'll apply for with 0% APR. So yeah, I'm working on getting my ducks in a row... which isn't easy. They're ducks, they waddle willy-nilly XDDD
