Heterochromia...

Generally, heterochromia refers to the difference in colouration, usually of the iris, but also of hair or skin.

Heterochromia iridum is the technical term for heterochromia of the iris.

Some people have partial or sectoral heterochromia iridium, where they have two completely different parts of colour in an eye or maybe a sector of a different colour. Some people have complete heterochromia iridium where they have two completely different coloured eyes.

Some famous people with heterochromia iridium are Kate Bosworth, Dan Akroyd and Jane Seymour.

Where heterochromia iridum is where generally one iris is a different color from the other, central heterochromia is an eye condition in which there are two different colors in the same iris. Central heterochromia is where the area around the pupil is a completely different colour to the rest of the iris and usually, if one eye has it, the other will.


Me, I have central heterochromia. Both my eyes are blue/grey but with a yellow/brown solar flare around the pupil.
