For many years now I've been clinging to my DA account as it was my very first platform I showcased my art on - as is probably the case for many artists my age. Counting my old acc (now defunct) I've been on here for 15 years! During these 15 years I got through highschool, studied art, worked in the games industry, did illustration professionally, self-published comics and also, somehow, got absolutely nowhere with DA. In fact, the only time I did reasonably well on here was back in 2007-2008 when I was still drawing Naruto fanart. Anyone remembers those? (please don't say yes)
At this point I feel like checking up on DA is just a pointless timesink, especially considering all the other social media I have to keep track off. I don't have the time and energy to invest into building a following here, and I'm not getting any engagement from the artwork alone. Most artists I follow on here I've already got on other social media.
So I'm considering either deleting my account or just not updating anymore and leaving it as an archive of my work up until this point. I do find myself using my DA gallery to find pieces that got buried on my tumblr or twitter, and DA doesn't compress them which is nice, so I am tempted to keep it around - however, if I find myself still logging in and wasting my time without a good reason, i'll probably go ahead and kill it off.
Here's where to find me online:
There is also a Facebook page which DA refuses to link to. Oh well.
