The book: Ellsworth Kelly Drawings, Collages, Prints, has the word "collage" in the title so I checked it out of the library on December 23. I was familiar with Kelly's hard-edge, color field paintings but was unprepared for the work covered in this book. Some of the pieces are studies for paintings but easily stand on their own. He died on December 27 at the age of 92.
The book itself is interesting. Published in 1971, the color reproductions are tipped in. Any of his work less than 8.25 x 10.5 inches is presented full size. He did a lot of smaller pieces.

the manhattan postcard would have nicely fit in our altered postcard exhibition .... i like it very much.
Interesting to see this. Thanks, Ken.
Not my favorite work... but I create art, in part, to hopefully reach people after death. As this man has.
