Believe it or not, this is my entry for the ASoFaI Mother's day contest by RedCandle17. And nope, it is not "father's", although I'll admit I'm a bit twisted with this one :P (I'm giving a hint here, so if you want to avoid a potential spoiler, do no read any further)
I sketched it in medium grain paper, inked it with a Staedler liner 0.2 and then scanned it and colored it with Photoshop, just to try something new (digital coloring, I mean).

At least it's canon in the show
crisurdiales's avatar
yup, but I posted this in 2011 :)
godofwarlover's avatar
I know that. I just hope it's canon in the books

If it's not, it's sloppy writing, as it has been suggested so many times.Like Frey being the Rat Cook and the Boltons most likely being descendants of the Night King and a White Walker. Sometimes writers change their plots to avoid readers figuring out what's going to happen, but I say if writing is consistent, a reader must figure out what's going to happen :P

We live in a time where subverted expectations are believed to be good storytelling, only for them to realize too late that it pisses people off instead
crisurdiales's avatar
Amen to that!

And the creators call them, sexist. racist, homophobic/biphobic/transphobic/whateverphobic and the fans boycott their stuff as a result
crisurdiales's avatar
That's the main reason why lots of shows have a great premise in season one and go down the drain from season 2 on :(

Aww cute.

Though I think Ned should of said Jon was an orphan he found instead of saying he is his bastard, that could have avoided many problems, from Catelyn holding a grudge against Ned and taking it out on Jon.

I think the trick here would be that noone would think Ned would acknowledge a bastard as his own if it wasn't true, since honor and whatnot. Plus he could rise him (kind of) as his own, instead of leaving him to the service.  I also think he should have simply trusted his wife with the truth, but of course they did not know each other that well when they were forced into marriage. Or maybe we are wrong and Jon is not Ned's nephew, but that would certainly be unexpected.

I think john snows wolf is white with red eyes - one of the dragons are white with red eyes........ohhh
crisurdiales's avatar
Hehehe, and my theory on who is the third head of the dragon is way crazier, too! :D

one of the biggest mystery of the series!
crisurdiales's avatar
This one seems to be the more obvious one. There are also small conundrums, like where is Sarella, the final sand snake which is introduced in the casting list in book 4 but (apparently) never appears, lore, like every tale of ol' nan turning out to be real, and big, hidden mysteries, like who is the third dragon head. I know they lay it plain in book 5, but it seems too obvious for me, there must be something else somewhere ..

i hope howland reed will appear in book 6 and explain what actually happens in tower of joy, as eddard is dead now, and dead man tell no tales in 7 kingdom.

not many i can say on the subject of the 3rd dragon head, beside the thought that there'll be another targaryens, trueborn or bastard. since with little aegon appearance, GRRM was suggesting that there'll be 3 dragon riders.
crisurdiales's avatar
Yup, I totally expect Howland to come back and explain.

As implied in this drawing, I'm fairly convinced from book 1 that Jon is actually Rhaegar and Lyanna's son; no other way that Eddard would have acknowledged him as his bastard in front of the whole north, what with his sense of honor and all. Then, we've got Daenerys, the second head. But it's too casual that suddenly there comes little Aegon out of nowhere as the third head and everything is all right. I was expecting more of a mystery, like, I don't know, Tyrion turning out to be Aerys' bastard with Tywin's wife (it's commented that he fancied her and that he was a raper; Tywin flees from Kings Landing in a rage, plus someone descending from inbreeding could be deformed and, of course, Tywin would hate him ..) This is probably too elaborate to work, but something in these lines might be better suited for the books pace.

yeah, little aegon appearance seems out of place. but looking back, GRRM did hinting about it, when lannisters present rhaegar's son to the rebels.
i dont know if he really meant the babe with crashed skull as a hint for aegon from the very beginning of the story or a failsafe for the plot in case he wants to explore something new.

and as it happened, i reread feast of crows few days back. i'm interested in baelish's line about three queens. it made me wonder if he's working together with varys.
crisurdiales's avatar
I was expecting Rhaegar's son to have been swapped with another baby (maybe Lady Dayne's son, since they have fair hair and violet eyes like Targaryens and she suicided (or not :P) after the war) ever since Jon swapped Mance's babe with Craster's. Few things are casual in these books. However, I was expecting the boy to be someone we already know, not some kid magically coming out of the blue.

One never knows how Baelish thinks, but I don't think he's working with Varys, unless they are both better actors than expected. In the books, they seem to despise each other. Anyway, they are both conveniently flexible when needed ...
vonrakka's avatar
agree with you there. it would be better if he's already been introduced as someone else's bastard or squire or ward. i guess what disappoint most of us is that he's one of the dragon, one from the 7 noble houses and without proper background.

Exactly my thoughts!
