With many, many photographs, you can take the eyes of the subject and put them on any face. Without the rest of the face, the eyes are completely neutral, could fit any emotion.
With 'Trauma,' this is not so. The weariness, the agony, the innocence, the slowly diminishing hope...this is visual tragedy at its finest. I saw the thumbnail, and was utterly blown away. I've never seen a staged photo that was quite so heartwrenching. There's something surreal, and I first thought that this was a hand-drawn picture. The colors are vivid, though the nose seems just a little too orange. Perhaps that's simply my angle.
'Trauma' is on a level that some artists never reach. I think this is the first time I've seen a staged photo and thought 'tragedy.' Real, poetic, visual tragedy of the best kind.

The model's face and expression is absolutely superb. The saddened look in the eyes is barely identifiable as any one definition; it shows naught but emotion glared of sadness, disappointment, fear, and anger. While the concept near vauges of the common-day clown makeup that you'd see, it is WELL made up by the clearness and definition of the crude makeup. The high quality well assigns the wrinkles of the skin and the caking of the tones, which give it a near vintage look. This model is screaming words with only the press of her eyes, her makeup giving not but a mysterious array of plausible history and backstory. This is by far one of the best photos and ideas I have seen in a long time, and I think the eyes of such emotion can practically make a person fall head-over-heels with just a single glance. Thank you, artist, for bringing back just what this world needs: genuine art.

This is my favorite photograph of all time. I have followed your work for quite awhile and although every piece of yours is impacting and breathtaking there is something about this piece. Something about this makes my heart do weird little circles. The eyes are captivating-they scream innocence but the blood hints that maybe the innocent eyes know something-something that effects her innocence. Its like shes seen things, felt things, she has been through hell and yet the eyes-they have hope even though the rest of her live is covered in blood. She is wise and she has seen pain in others and has also felt the pain in herself. She understands so much more than most people because of all the shit shes been through. The eyes are deep and dark and knowing-they show pain and yet they are still intent. They are still awake and observant, she has not given up even though her life is stained with the blood from the past.

I dunno-this is my take. This is what I feel when I look at this photo and this photo has kept me going. Your work is amazing. Your work has saved lives.

In all honesty I have fallen out of love with photography, particularly of the human form. I've seen it all before, or so I thought.

trauma. brings the reader trawling through DA to a unexpected halt. At first the eyes create a state of paralysis, which is broken only by a overwhelming need, a want for more. Desire to soak in this piece leaves a debt that can not be paid solely by drowning in the model's eyes.

Reds stand vibrant in stark contrast to the pale skin. Brown eyes barely need the extra attention from the ring of black and gold. Pale lips lie pale in comparison, or the would if they were not a harbour for raw desire and connectivity. What stories could they tell or create.

I know not what the artist intended but only what I see. Although the title and composition of this piece proclaim trauma I find myself finding hope and defiance simmering behind a powerful and turbulent surface.

There is something haunting about the eyes. The fact that the composition alone is with a few colors makes the photograph stand out even more. What is interesting is the expression, it hints alongside the realm of pain but also it holds a sense of surprise. Maybe it's just me, but it's almost shocking.

Well done! I'll say it again but the eyes really pop out, I wish that I could take photographs of someone's eyes like that, crystal clear, like a ghost behind a whisper within a lucid dream. Spooky!!!!!!!!

I hope to see more work from you within our community! Great job! Amazing!

A textural tour de force! This piece draws you in...The artists intent, given in the title "Trauma", hints at the source of the expression of the subject. Whether the subject conveys fatigue, dispair, or detachment from reality; the expression requests your attention. Visual texture of skin, paint, and makeup tie the composition together well, and the eyes captivate.... Beautiful work! Wonderful vision, expressive solution, nice resolution. A unique work to the world, but fitting and exemplary to the style exhibited by the artist in the past. The piece is not confrontive, but rather requests your contemplation in a manner very acceptable and personal. Excellent Work!!

Premising that I really like your work, about Trauma, like other your arts highlight your characteristic of expressionism. all of your image that is processed or not ,in color or black and white.send magic and intensity. I see a lot of preparation and research on the photographic subject, which shows a lot of creativity, leaving nothing to chance in the professionalism, of course, you can create high-impact images, images that tend to rape and hypnotise the viewer. Seize the expression of a moment is not right' easier ... is like to capture the fleeting moment and you .... you can!! congratulations! soon Luca

WOW! scary, daunting, haunting and yet very very beautiful. I like that you did not just use the red colour but had a mixture of brown and black to it. I especially love the lips, the expression it gives makes the picture more...dauntingly breath taking. I also like the flatness in the eyes and the way mascarra contradicts the flatness.
I can honestly say you are one of the best photographer I have ever encountered. your attention to minute details (like the smudge and dirk behind the red in this picture) make your work more realistic and beautiful.
Keep up the great work!

This clown-like image is sure to send some people to bed with nightmares! Her eyes are what i find so interesting, how they look so flat, and lifeless. They look dead on at the viewer, seeming to look through you, or into your soul. Of course it is quite joker -esque, and easily gives off the feeling of insanity - how did she end up covered in scars? Is the blood hers. This picture could easily be the poster advertisement for a horror movie.

I like the way you framed the image, stopping just before the edges of your face. This gives the feeling of a semi close-up. Because she is looking dead on, it is quite confronting. Te fact that you can't see the backgroud also adds to the mystery of how the girl came to be covered in blood, and how she lives her life.

I really like this image, its a simple and well known pattern, yet you used it as a vision of horror and suspense!

Blood or make up for this clown? Both, and we feel it. It expresses a great distress, but also a total resigned despair. That is great. There is an impression of filth, misery, too... The eyes are deeper as ever, indecipherable. The framing forces us to look straight in your eyes, beautiful brown eyes, then our look "flows" with the bloody tears 'till the lips, barely opened and revealing the dark inside of you. The contrast between the tunisian smile and your mouth shut down is incredibly expressive. This is a great work, really. The photo and the compo, the idea and the reality that came out.
Bravo, Cristina ! You deserve to be known as one of the bests of our time.

I noticed you focus a lot on the eyes in most of your pictures, and the results you get are amazing. Always beautiful eyes, overflowing with expressions. This tells me of despair and of a soul with scars, terrified and numbed at the same time. The overall dark and clown-esque feel of the picture naturally makes me think of Pennywise, from Stephen King.
Your art is amazing! =D Good job!
