The first thing I should touch on is just the emotions this elicits. With the dirt of the rose and the almost grimy detail of the woman's face, it gives out an earthy feel. I've never really noticed something like that in an artwork before. This piece screams someone who resides in a muddy or partially muddy area that is presumably lush, given the flower. I don't know why. The models face is sweaty and detailed, the rose is a nice touch of princess like beauty, but the dirt from the stem tells a more dirty story. The braided hair along with it being white also give a nice princess like beauty. the only gripe I have really with this work is that she's naked. Although it gives it a more earthly and primitive, basic feel, it is overdone on this sight and really feels like it's there for the sake of being there.
