Living Room

This is my living room.
Olympus C-7000.

It's not done in this shot; the baseboards are missing, the fireplace trim isn't present, the couch is our old one from the old house and has since been replaced with a much more modern sleeker one, and some upholstry has since been done.
I should also note that the carpet there is actually set in to the floor rather than being a rug on top. That's also solid Brazilian Walnut (not engineered), each individual slat is a good 3/4" thick. Hardest wood out there... pain in the butt to nail in.

I like the subtle asian influence, gives it a warm and welcoming feeling. I think the subtleness makes it work.

I really love those chairs!

Why not try some floor lamp like a Japanese lamp and Bonsai tree... :)

We were trying to be subtle in terms of japanese styling.

And the room itself is beautiful too!

Thank you. We argued for a good year and a half to decide on how to put it together. I'm glad my demand for contrast won out. ;)
